Board of Young Leaders Program Success Story: Fatima Zahra

Can you tell us a little about your background?

Across the years, my professional background revolved mostly around translation, content writing and editing, event curation and journalism. Also, being a passionate volunteer to the core, I spend a great amount of my time mentoring and leading several national and international teams in diverse projects and across different domains, on a voluntary basis.

Which department did you work on and what did you enjoy the most about it?

I used to work in the Content Writing department. There are many things you get to experience when dealing with content. However, the one thing I enjoyed most was writing a content piece. It was quite a challenge writing on diverse topics that really helped me hone my writing skills.

What skills did you pick up at Board of Young Leaders Program that are helping you achieve your goals?

My journey at EMN, was certainly rich in terms of learning. I got to mostly sharpen my leadership skills while managing a group of content writers. And I also learned how to be more disciplined and focused. Whenever I had a task, I knew I needed to accomplish it all while respecting the given deadline.

Any advice to candidates who want to become members at Eat My News?

If there is one thing I learnt being part of the EMN community and which I would like to share with any student, who is either a current or future Eatizen, it is the following: When and after you graduate, it is not about the time you spent preparing for a test or working on a homework, those things are important, but what really matters and what you will surely remember are the friends you’ve made, the relationships you’ve built and the experiences you’ve had. These are the things for which you will truly be grateful because they will stay with you and help you throughout your whole life, and EMN offers the chance to do all of the above (Yep, a package!) What can I say? : Once an Eatizen, always an Eatizen. And a proud one that is!
