Board of Young Leaders Program Success Story: Vidushi Bhatia

What are you currently doing and what role does Board of Young Leaders Program have in that?

I am currently working as a Decision Analytics Associate at a data analytics and consulting firm called ZS Associates. We help our clients by creating innovative solutions to their business problems, be it finding coherent answers for everyday hurdles or strategizing for long-term growth. A part of my job is using my analytical and technical skills to solve business problems. Another major chunk of it includes communication, presentation, pitching creative ideas, and working with my counterparts across continents on a daily basis.

Being in the leadership body at EMN helped me developing the skills of the latter part of the job, which is essentially the part and parcel of any corporate job.

Why did you choose Eat My News?

My reason to start working with EMN was pretty simple. I wanted to make news a part of my life but was unable to do it on my own. Working with people who were passionate about world affairs helped me in building my interest in news, a habit that has stuck with me through the years.

Describe your leadership experience at Eat My News program?

My leadership experience as the Managing Editor and VP Expansions gave me a chance to work in the forefront of a team of over 30 brilliant minds across the globe. Being a first-time leader, I received incredible assistance in overcoming my shortcomings and building a skillset. In my time spent as a leader in EMN, I learnt not only how to tap into one's creativity and come up with original ideas, but how to execute them to perfection. I was given an opportunity to identify my potential and set my sight higher every time I achieved a goal.

What is that one thing that stands out about Board of Young Leaders Program as compared to others?

The one thing that stood out to me about this program was the opportunity to take the driver's seat in every role I played. Often in leadership programs the ownership of work and the capacity to execute is not at par with the designation one holds, but at EMN I got a chance to map out my own journey and help my team do the same for themselves. It was a perfect space to develop a vision and turn it into reality.

How was your overall experience in Board of Young Leaders Program?

My growth in this program was exponential. From learning the basics of leadership to training new leaders, all in a span of 6 months. It gave me an opportunity to work with leaders from all around the world and evolve in a space filled with dynamic and innovative ideas. I developed vast range of skills like good communication, efficient teamwork, conducting meetings and sessions, taking interviews and networking. My work ethic was improved as I became more organized and disciplined. Last not the least, it's an incredible place to meet new people, make lifelong friends and have the time of your life.
