Board exams are a time when despite preparation, students can experience stress and anxiety.

This stress is not just due to academic factors but many other factors influence it like: pressure from parents and relatives comparisons with other children, peer pressure, bleak career opportunities etc.

Stress during exams is pretty normal and is also crucial for good performance and motivation to score well. However many students take so much stress that it drives them to take undesirable measures . In order to stay away from all the negativities and failures students should keep some things in mind to combat last minute exam jitters :

1. Revise and plan out a productive timetable

It is important that students plan their day well and give time to all subjects. Making short notes while studying will help a lot during revision as it is important to compile everything one has studied. The students should be in regular touch with the topics by revising regularly.

In order to perform well students should identify their weak areas and topics and should practice on them more .It is also very important that all their doubts are cleared to avoid confusion and unnecessary stress .

A proper diet is fruitful for one's overall health and should be incorporated in our everyday life but students should specifically include during exams. Processed and fast foods tend to make one lethargic and can generate other digestion problems. These foods should be avoided and healthy alternatives like fruits and vegetables, milk and dairy products should be included.

Doing some sort of exercise or workout is one of the best ways to combat stress and improve the performance level. For the lazy peeps who avoid doing Rigorous exercises going for a walk or practicing meditation is the best option. According to a recent study only a 10 minute walk can do wonders and reduce stress to a large extent.

It's a common scenario students compromising on their sleep to get those extra hours to study. But on a serious note it only leaves your mind and body in a tensed mode There is a certain limit up to which our mind and can work and retain content students should not try to overdo anything. They should take 6-7 hours of sleep regularly and especially the day before the exam. It would help you start the nest day with a positive note and boost your performance in the exams

8. Stay away from gadgets and mobile phones

We are living in the 21st century which is often referred to as digital age. Smartphones , tablets and internet connection are within everyone's reach today. The Internet is important in giving vital information to the students but most of them don't know how to use it , it acts as a distraction for many as students spend hours on social media and watching movies and playing games which diverts their mind and interest from studies. Students appearing for board exams should strictly avoid using any gadgets while studying as it puts strain on our eyes.

9. Go for a digital detox!

At last i would like to say that relax, it is just like any other exams which you have given in the past. My only suggestion is that take it easy and enjoy studying and the company of your friends because you are going to miss these days some years ahead. Just live in the moment and give your best shot . Remember you will get what you deserve and the only thing in your hand is to practice more . So just give a shot and good luck . All is going to be well !
