Board of Young Leaders Success Story: Vishal Jha

How was your journey with Eat My News?

My journey with Eat My News was quite interesting and fascinating. I feel very proud to be a member of Eat My News during my tenure of 2 years, where I was a part of the global expansion (West & South region) as a member, and after 1 year I was promoted to their position of Assistant Vice president. I really thank the management, for the continuous support and courage, also for giving me so many opportunities so that I could carry out various tasks which helped me grow personally and improve my learning and speaking skills. During this journey of 2 years I got the opportunity to know about all the departments here.

Eat My News has a very friendly environment, where I always enjoyed my work, got full satisfaction, which is one of the important things that matters a lot. The environment always encouraged me for taking new assignments, and helped achieve new horizons.

Did Board of Young Leaders Program help you to develop your personality?

Yes definitely, my leaders were very supportive in creating an impact on my life and helped me develop my personality throughout the journey. They actually tried to bring out the best in me, which made me realize my potential, and gave me the light to come out with essential ideas which can impact other lives too, if implemented in a correct way.

Practically speaking, life is all about gaining experiences, whether good or bad it teaches us something extraordinary, and no learning goes waste in life.

How do you apply your learnings at work?

As a learner, I am constantly learning. One can never finish learning because you learn something new every moment. And for a student, the learning can never stop.

Whether I am learning through reading an article or conducting research, or in an educational setting like a seminar or online classroom, all these experiences can provide new and important information, that can enhance my skills and overall knowledge. However, there’s a big difference between absorbing information and putting what you’ve learned into practice. Without doing the latter, the training you’ve received will go to waste, so it’s important to have a strategy for implementing whatever you have learned.

Here, I learned about my strengths. I created metrics for my learning, and exercised honest introspection of myself.

I have better action plans and better knowledge to review my goals.

Who inspired you the most in Board of Young Leaders Program and why?

Rigveda, Meghna, Akhil and Binish inspired me a lot throughout my tenure as they were my friends first, and leaders later . They eventually helped me to figure out things minutely, and if any problem occurred, they solved it patiently, and told me how to rectify it. They taught me that every problem has a solution, as the saying goes.

Everything you do is not waste, somethings eventually gives you a great learning even when you are not prepared for it. That's just how life works.
