1. Tell us about your background and journey.
I am a dentist by chance and MBA person by choice.
It wasn’t an easy choice to make as I put my entire career at stake. Looks like
the choice I made isn’t bad at all as this is what I want to do.
2. Despite so much of talent in India, why do people look abroad for
treatment?
Let me put it in this way, there is so much talent
in India and people are preferring treatments in India these days. To be honest
many people from foreign countries come to India to get treatments done. This
is called as medical tourism.
If you ask me, people having a penchant for
foreign treatments is mostly a myth.
3. How important is super specialization for doctors?
Medical knowledge
is expanding day by day. New inventions are being made and numerous secrets of
the body are being unfolded along with new diseases.
Hence, super
specialization is necessary for doctors to give the precise treatment.
4. What is your take on virtual methods of providing treatment?
It is difficult to reach remote areas at times and
virtual treatments can play a major role in treating the patients. The clause
is that, the other person out there must possess similar expertise.
5. What do you think are the key differences in studying medical in Indian
and other countries?
Indian students can
come across a myriad of cases while they study as India is a tropical country
and is prone to many medical conditions whereas in other countries, the patient
exposure may be less.
6. Which countries are the best for studying medical besides India?
The United States is a great country to study
medicine and U.K. I am not quite sure of China and other Asian countries.
7. Which is your favourite book and why?
The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy is my favourite
book so far. He says that small insignificant actions that you perform every
day is the strategy to reap huge rewards.
8. What impact do you want to create in the medical field?
I want to get into a pharmaceutical company see
myself in a commendable position and fund research projects in making expensive
medicines available at a cheaper price.
