1. Tell us about your background and journey.

This can be surprising to a lot of people as not everyone knows that I belong to the corporate world as well. I have been into the Training field for a long time now, however Fashion always intrigued me. It's been my daily therapy all the years. My journey as a Blogger/Influencer started in 2012 with a fashion blog and that persisted through Instagram an year later. It has been a primrose path for me with a little thorns on it, but when you love the job you do, little stumbles along the way don't really matter.

2. What led you to start your page on Instagram and what is it about?

I discovered Instagram app as soon as it started in 2013 and I instantly fell in love with it. I used to look at some fashion accounts that inspired me to post more about my passion around Avant Garde Styles. Later, I expanded into more genres like Fashion hacks videos, Travel tales, beauty regime, personal hustle stories.
By God's grace, My page picked up instantly. There has been no looking back since then.

3. How would you distinguish the term blogger from an influencer?

A blogger is someone who posts content and reviews about different subjects or products on their Blog/website.
An influencer, on the  other hand, is a fresh medium of this digital era. It can be anyone (a sportsperson, a blogger, an actor, a journalist, a next door fashionista) who not just influences sales of a product commercially, but can have a voice about something that a large number of people care about.

4. Is it financially sustainable to be an influencer today?

To be honest, It is not always beers and skittles as it seems. There are days when you don't have time to breathe and have back to back Product shoots and as a result one would find themselves living in the lap of luxury, but there will be difficult days as well ;For example: The recent Pandemic outbreak's initial phase was quite tough for a lot of us, however the best part about this business is that money is not the only motivational factor here if one keeps creating amazing content for the audience and keeps them hooked.

5. What do you think influences consumer behavior?

A lot of factors but two of the things that I believe majorly play the role in influencing one to buy a service or a product are Stimulation and Credibility : When a person is at the peak of his 'Motivated' to fulfill their desire or need. That inspiration can majorly be stimulated visually by a fascinating picture on instagram of their favourite celebrity holidaying somewhere (for someone who is looking for a honeymoon trip or a getaway with friends.)
Also, Repetition helps a lot. When an influencer starts a campaign, We are asked to post multiple posts at different times of the month to be in front of the eyes of a potential buyer time and again.

A lot of people rely on 'Word of Mouth' to purchase stuff.
Each person today on digital platforms is an advertiser. Social Media has now taken over most other advertising platforms like Newspaper Advertising. I hardly know people who even read a newspaper these days. There were days when people used to buy products off the shelf without knowing the authenticity of the product. Today, from a Salon Service to a tweezer; everything is available online along with the relevant reviews.
People prefer buying what they think is attractive, useful, reliable and is seen everywhere.

6. What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?

I totally follow the 'Law of Attraction' strategies being a certified LOA Coach myself. Apart from the hard work one puts in, One needs to have a strong belief and an abundance mindset. This just doesn't put me at ease but also has brought in miraculous growth.
I totally believe our thoughts become our reality. So I try to keep it sane and positive most of the time. I no longer chase Success. I totally believe it's there for me.
"Whether you think you can or think you can not: You are right."- Henry Ford.

7. How can someone become a successful social media influencer?

I recommend them to follow these 4 Ps: Positivity, Patience, Passion and Persistence.
One needs to constantly have a positive frame of mind to persistently and patiently follow their passion.

Pick your niche. Be good at it. Be ready to learn and be surprised every day. I would say only step into the game if you really have a streak of helping people unconditionally. Do it if you are not doing it just for fame or freebies, but because you are marvellously passionate about your subject.

There is a lot of competition around. I am not trying to scare you but that is a big factor one needs to keep in mind. It is never too late to do things you love. Always remember that content was and will always be the king. So, if someone really wants to make a difference, they should focus on making their content valuable.

8. Which is your favorite book and why?

It's 'Girl Boss' by Sophia Amoruso. She shares her 'rags to riches' story humorously. This book makes me believe in myself again whenever I need to bounce back again because I can relate my life's tale of "from nowhere to somewhere and to keep getting better."
