Insights on Instagram by an Influencer Jagrit Chhabra

What led you to start your page on Instagram and what is it about?
Food is my ultimate source of happiness, not just that I explore places but different cuisines that made me start influencing people. Instagram is something that made it easy for me to connect to people.
How would you distinguish the term blogger from an influencer?
There is a thin line between bloggers and influencers. In blogging, bloggers write blogs about particular topics like food, fashion, etc. on Blogspot or WordPress. Influencer influence people about any topic. Influencers have a very wide public as compared to bloggers. Because influencers are on platforms like Instagram, FB, and twitter which is very wide whereas Blogspot and WordPress are having less public. So it concludes influencers could get more public.

Is it financially sustainable to be an influencer today?
It is not financially sustainable to be an influencer because nowadays every other person on Instagram seems like an influencer. So with more people signing up the industry, competition is hard, at times some people choose for paid followership and since numbers matter to some extent, good collaborations are not easy to get when we aim for organic followership.

What do you think influences consumer behavior?
I really believe in original content and building your USP. There are people who're just copying ideas randomly which ultimately backfires them in the long run. To make yourself a brand one must have their own original and authentic way of putting across their own ideas. The consumer wants things that are unique and relatable to their needs.
Your opinion on Instagram contemplating removing likes option for posts.
I am against this opinion because we (influencers) are genuinely motivated sometimes and it gives us a good check on our reach.

What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?
For me, success is staying authentic and staying happy like HAPPY TUMMY. When I chose to be organic and never get into unnecessary fake followers or paid fake reviews. I took a stand for myself that bought me happiness. For me, success is the contentment I feel after the hard work I do and the feedback of the people I get for the content I put across.
