Insights on Instagram by an Influencer: Arpita Saha

What led you to start your page on Instagram and what is it about?
I love to get clicked from my college days. It is all started with just a random thought to share information’s about style and fashion with others through my pictures. My profile is all about fashion (mostly ethnic), lifestyle, and beauty. I do give more preference to the traditional wear, as I think a woman looks good with a saree or salwar too if carried comfortably.

How would you distinguish the term blogger from an influencer?
A blogger is someone who only shares the information and knowledge on a relevant topic, while an influencer has the ability to influence others for something.

Is it financially sustainable to be an influencer today?
Maybe, maybe not. Actually, it’s not at the beginning, but besides an influencer, you can also do other something else because there is a lot of competition in this field.

What do you think influences consumer behavior?
I think it’s all about presentation, how you present something to others that matters. You should confident enough. If someone likes the way you carry yourself, then he/she can easily get influenced.

Your opinion on Instagram contemplating removing likes option for posts.
Like an option is very important, as it helps us to know whether everyone is liking our work or not and that encourages us to do good work. Without likes, our work seems incomplete and we are not sure whether we are keeping up with our fan following or not.

What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?
To be focused on what you want to achieve and you need to do hard work until your goal is achieved.

I’m a simple, Bengali girl belonging to a middle-class family from the City of Joy, Kolkata, and a teacher by profession.
