All We Need Is Hard Work, Dedication and Patience - Jitendra Soni

When I started my food blogging page there was no one to help me at that time I felt so helpless but I decided not to give up and I started uploading food related stuff. I made so many mistakes but I am happy that I learnt from mistakes and I am still learning.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

Hi! I am Jitendra. I was born In Bikaner, Rajasthan India. I Am in B.tech 4th year. I am doing my B.tech From Arya College Of Engineering And I.T. Jaipur. So my journey with Food started In January 2020. From childhood I was attracted to cooking and cooking is literally my hobby.

I belong to a small town where the blogging is not very popular so what actually happened is I was about to complete my graduation but I wanted to do something different so one day I was scrolling my Instagram feed and saw some food related post and then I came to know about food blogging and how it works and then I decided to start a food blogging page.

When I started my food blogging page there was no one to help me at that time I felt so helpless but I decided not to give up and I started uploading food related stuff. I made so many mistakes but I am happy that I learnt from mistakes and I am still learning.

Because no one is perfect now my page is doing really well. Now I have so many friends who genuinely support me and help me in my work and now I even have my own YouTube channel where I upload food recipes.

2. Which is your favourite cuisine and dish?

I am a huge fan of Indian food, especially typical street food because it's literally stuffed with a lot of spices and I guess there is no comparison of Indian food. It's rich in taste as well as nutrients. Pani Puri or gol-gappa is really close to my heart. Pani puri always makes me drool. No matter how stuffed I am. Pani puri is literally in my nerves. I have a special place in my heart for pani puri.

3. Should food blogging be just a passion or can it become a regular career.

Yes why not. It can be pursued as a career. I even know many food bloggers who work as full time food bloggers. Who are earning really well and living their dreams. All we need is hard work, dedication and patience.

4. Which restaurants/food joints would you recommend to food lovers?

In my recommendations some street food places (in jaipur)

  • Fast Food, Aunty's Cafe
  • Momos, Lane 4 in Raja Park
  • Cold coffee, GVD
  • Masala chai, Gulab ji chai
  • Pani puri, Chawla's and nand's
  • Lassi, Lassiwala on M.I. Road
  • Sweets, Laxmi Mishthan Bhandar

Favourite restaurants (in jaipur)

  • Chokhi Dhani
  • Kalyan rooftop & Indoor restaurant
  • 24/7 Restaurant

5. What makes you appreciate a particular dish or a restaurant and talk about it on your blog?

When it comes to reviews about restaurants there are many criterias which needs to be fulfilled. For me every small thing matters. The first thing that really matters to me is the taste of the food and quantity of the food and food should be value for money after the ambience, or hospitality should be nice.

After fulfilment of all these criteria I can give a positive and complete review about restaurants.

6. Is there a dish you particularly associate yourself with?

Yes I am a little close to gulab jamun. Gulab jamun is the solution for my every problem. It's kind of a mood lifter. Whenever I'm happy I eat gulab jamun. Whenever I'm sad I eat gulab jamun.

I'm emotionally connected to gulab jamun. And gulab jamun was the first dish I ever made in my food blogging career. Though it was not that perfect. But everyone loved it. So yeah, gulab jamun is in my blood.

7. Which is your favourite book and why?

So my favorite book is “Ignited My Mind” by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and I loved that book because Dr. Kalam believed that we Indians have the capacity of making a much greater contribution to the world than we have made. This book is really inspiring.
