The Inner Zeal and Passion for Food Should Never Fade - Himani Chauhan

What I feel is a lot happening within and around us is often purpose-driven and I assure that I segregate the best of the best purpose.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I am from Nagpur, did my engineering and then pursued my PG in English Literature. I started my career as a sub-editor at The Hitvada newspaper from there I went on to become a soft skill and communication trainer and now I am a certified coder at WhiteHatJr.

Hip Hopping through all these varied domains in my career what has remained consistent is my ardent love for food and desire to treat myself with a buffet of varied cuisines of the world.

Although a lot of it has been achieved and is evident by the mere fact that a lot more people know me by the name of my page as tastebuds1827 rather than by my own name as Himani Chauhan.

2. What led you to start this journey and your page on Instagram and what is it about?

My page is a little world of me and my varied dishes. The love of food has passed on to me through my genes literally and my page captures the very essence of it. My father is someone who would literally push his limits to try out some new up on a platter and that is exactly what has passed on to me.

I am a globetrotter which also gives me the opportunity to quench my thirst of trying new dishes. Although it was much later that I was introduced to the world of Instagram where I tried to post my captured eye candies.

3. How would you distinguish the term blogger from an influencer?

Both these umbrella terms are one the most circulated terms in today's youths' conversations and no doubt they are often misunderstood. To me, a blogger is someone who through varied platforms try to showcase his/her valuable content with utmost creativity and incomparable skills.

Much similar to a blogger, influencers also pour down their creativity and impeccable skills. But unlike a blogger whose purpose is to simply work hard and then leave the rest to the audience, influencers are far more impact creators.

This very fact about influencers who actually try to influence or change the mindset of people is the prominent stand aloud thing. Probably which is why influencers are far more into the limelight and considered resourceful for promotions.

4. Is it financially sustainable to be a food blogger today?  How can someone make money out of it?

To be very precise, I myself never walked into this flavourful world with an aim to make it as my primary source of income. Which is why maybe I am more at peace with the amount I am able to bring to my pocket.

Having said that, those who start with a money-oriented mindset might not find it sustainable in the inception but it eventually gives a lot of perks when attached with varied media platforms and promotion in a right planned manner.

5. What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?

What I feel is a lot happening within and around us is often purpose-driven and I assure that I segregate the best of the best purpose. This best purpose will eventually take us through the happiest paths of life. This nectar of happiness is the ultimate success and also the mantra of my life.

6. How can someone become a successful food blogger?

Well, like parenting do not have a perfect recipe, similarly, there isn't any specific recipe to be a successful blogger. Also, each blogger rides his ship and discovers new pearls on the voyage all by himself so there can not be a fixed answer to this but one thing remains unchanged and that is consistency and zeal.

The inner zeal and passion for food should never fade. One should not think of it as a matter of leisure recreation but a responsibility that brings water to the spectator's tongue.

7. Which is your favourite book and why?

It was in Class VIIIth that I came across Charles Dickens' book called Oliver Twist and since then I am an ardent lover of his magnum opus.

His books are absolutely addictive because they are old and yet catch the very pulse of the present time and also the time back then and the characters in his books are larger than life. Apart from that, I love Alfred Lord Tennyson's poems and Khaled Hosseini's work as well.
