Akshay Mathur & Piyush Taneja - It Is the Presentation and Taste That Makes Us Appreciate a Dish

As PR Managers in Food industry, we promote various Restaurants through Social Media. We love to explore different food items at different places and enjoy cooking.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

First of all, we would like to thanks Eat My News for giving us this wonderful opportunity to introduce ourselves. So this side Akshay Mathur & Piyush Taneja. We are childhood friends and belong to Paharganj, which is located in New Delhi.

Basically, we are engineers and have done BTech in Biotechnology from Amity University, Noida. Also working as a PR Manager in Food industry where we promote various Restaurants through Social Media (Instagram, Facebook & Twitter).

We love to explore different food items at different places, and also we love to cook. That's why we started food blogging in the year 2016, and later we created our Instagram Page @ourfoodpad on 4th May 2020.

2. Which is your favourite cuisine and dish?

Our favourite cuisine is North Indian because Indian street food will blow you away. Best snacks in the World, by far. Honestly, from dishes like Paneer Tikka to others like, Pani Puri & Butter Chicken along with Garlic Naan, all of it is absolutely scrumptious. Our favourite dish is Butter Chicken, along with Butter/Garlic Naan.

3. Should food blogging be just a passion, or can it become a stable career?

Food blogging can be a passion, as well as a career. It depends how serious you are for it. Your passion can become your career, as well. Because food blogging involves a similar kind of hard work and dedication that is required in any other career path.

Blogging is a legit career. The digital world that we live in allows a massive scope of making money through the blog. Once you’re able to build a substantial following, you’ll be able to use your blog to promote and advertise products and make money.

Blogging comes with its own perks. You get invited to restaurants and hotels for tastings. You also get invitations to some entertaining events and parties. Once your blog grows, you even start receiving expensive gifts like phones and laptops from the brands. You may not get paid holidays like other jobs do, but you sure can get paid to holiday.

4. Which restaurants/food joints would you recommend to food lovers?

As we are born and brought up in Delhi. So, we would highly recommend some of our favourite food joints or restaurants from Delhi:-
  • Butter Chicken from Kaarobaar, Old Rajinder Nagar
  • Ras Malai Cake from Ministry of Cakes, Paharganj
  • Dal Makhani & Cheese Naan from The Galaxy, Old Rajinder Nagar
  • Momos from Jack & Grille Cafe, Old Rajinder Nagar
For the street food, I would highly recommend:-
  • Karan ke tadke waale Chole Kulche from Mayapuri
  • Momos from Tibetan Momos, Old Rajinder Nagar
  • Chicken Paratha Shawarma from Al - Naseem Foods, Bara Hindu Rao
  • Chur Chur Naan from Paharganj Seth Ke Mashoor Chur Chur Naan, Paharganj

5. What makes you appreciate a particular dish or a restaurant and talk about it on your blog?

First, it is the presentation and taste that makes us appreciate a dish. The dish should carry decent flavours. Neither too spicy nor too blunt.

6. Is there a dish you particularly associate yourself with?

Yes, we highly associate ourselves with Butter Chicken & Momos.
