Health Card - Your New Personal Identity

What can be a new thing for the upcoming generation of us is the concept of a Health Card, a card that is solely designed to keep a track of your health issues and reports to help you travel anywhere across the globe.

A New Initiative

Speaking to the facts, the New Delhi government is set to link the reports generated by both private and public hospitals to record digitally and to keep a track of the health status of citizens from August 2021 onwards.

At a recent conference the Chief Minister of New Delhi, Mr. ArvindKejriwal informed about the Health Information Management System (HIMS) and the concept of the "eHealth Card" facility.

This eHealth Card will flaunt a QR code-based system that is about to store the demographic and health information of all the residence which is, in turn, going to help the governing bodies in mapping end categorizing people eligible for certain schemes.

Concept of ‘HIMS’

Also, this HIMS system is going to help people with "in-Home Healthcare Services" being delivered at their doorsteps from all Patient Care Services, Hospital Administration, Budgeting, and Planning Offices.

And what is the main thing about the system is that the entire process will be 'cloud-based' and is going to be supported by a dedicated website and mobile application.

‘The Future is Cloud’

In case of any health emergency or unfortunate physical accidents, random people will also be able to extract some of the basic pieces of information about the injured or a patient person like blood group, etc.

As per government source release - "With this, Delhi will become the only state to have a "Cloud-Based Health Management System". This facility will also be extended to private hospitals in the near future."

The National Digital Health Mission:

Adding a fur to the cap of the Government of Delhi, they have also announced an ambitious 'National Digital Health Mission' that is set to digitalize all the patients' record with an ID login and, it is going to be like a "Health Care Account" where all the past and undergoing medications will be provided.

What Officials Say?

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday informed the press- "It is our duty to ensure there is no inconvenience to the people of Delhi. This management system should be able to provide all the healthcare facilities to the people. Other than that, by 2021, every resident of Delhi visiting the hospital should be issued a card to avail of the benefits of Government Healthcare Facilities. Post the issuing, we have to ensure this card is integrated with the HIMS."

The Health Minister of the Union Territory of Delhi, Mr. Satinder Jain, Also informed the press - "To ensure the effective reach of healthcare facilities to people, we will link the call center facilities to the app launched under HIMS. This will resolve issues of the people effectively. This system will ensure the availability of a doctor for the people 24/7."

Additionally, all these new changes are strictly advised to be effective by August 2021 by all healthcare facilities across Delhi.

A Set of Facilities

Also, one of the most groundbreaking changes the health facilities of the capital are going to make is the establishment of a 'Centralized Health Care Helpline Number' to enhance the uninterrupted healthcare facilities to the residents of Delhi union territory.

The government is all set to come up with a call center to provide the patients with proper calling facility, address information requests, health queries and, complaints about to be set up a new norm which is to be followed up among other services.

The Question Now

Is it going to be a positive change or have negative effects like hacking of data, providing wrong information, or adverse effects from consulting a doctor over a Telecall and not by visiting a clinic?
