Make mistakes because this is the one thing where you can grow & learn. Your mistake is your key to success, the more you make mistakes the more you learn.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

Hailing from the City of Joy "Kolkata" a happy-go-lucky. Got my first camera at the age of 14. Love to travel & travelling being the first love of photography became life. It always gives me pleasure to work with various designers, movies, clicking pictures of different places, people, so choose photography as my carrier.

As a student of Journalism & Mass Communication, I have a deep interest in photojournalism. Born & brought up in Kolkata, the place where filmmaker like Satyajit Ray started his journey & rest is history.

Last 3 years in the city of dreams 'Mumbai' to complete my dreams to work hard & make myself a highly competent, interdisciplinary photographer who brings something fresh to every project.

2. How and when did you realize your passion for photography?

Well, I love to travel as I said travelling being the first love of photography. From different places, shoot peoples & slowly the hobby turns into passion. I love to shoot people, then I tried to play with light & frames because I have never been to any photography school.

To be honest social media like youtube helps me a lot in my journey. Also, I follow lots of photographers, their BTS shoots that also helps me a lot. I started travel different places to shoot people, saw youtube videos & started experimenting with people then I got to know yes this is the thing which makes me happy, what I live for.

3. What are some tips you would like to share with amateur photographers?

Well, I have never been to any photography school but I can suggest one thing that click as much as you can, click random photos of people, streets, landscapes, even click pictures of your family members. Don't get upset & confuesd. No one is perfect & everyone is learning every single day.

Make mistakes because this is the one thing where you can grow & learn.Your mistake is your key to success, the more you make mistakes the more you learn. Your first 10000 photographs are your worst, but when you learn & correct your own mistakes, you will be the best. Happy Clicking :)

4. What are the important skills one should have to be a successful photographer?

Make your vision always clear that what you love to shoot, what you want to shoot. Don't get confused, don't give up there is always a second chance. A good frame is what makes a successful photographer.

So click as much as you can,be brave enough to shoot & make mistakes, have to understand the physics of light and know lighting techniques, have to know how to get the best out of your camera and shoot in manual mode.

Three important things:

  • Creativity
  • Patience and concentration
  • Attention to detail

You should keep this in mind.

5. What are various opportunities available for aspiring photographers?

Frankly, it depends on what kind of pictures you love to shoot. There is always an opportunity everywhere, in every field, it is only you who needs to decide what you love to do.

Don't think photography as a money-making business better you decide what you love to click & go for it. At the end of the day it's your creativity what you put in your work & you can't be so creative if you not love your job. Start where are you,use what you have, Do what you can.

6. Which is your favourite book and why?

It's a tough question for me because I'm not kind of a book person, to be honest, I don't want to suggest random books because I never read any books for photography.

What I can say is, practical knowledge is what makes you a good photographer, as I said the more you click the more you learn, also watch good movies because this helps you about framing & lighting. Your eye is your first camera then the machine.
