India, a country with diverse cultures and religions, is famous for its rich heritage and historical events. India Is a Secular Nation.

Now, let me introduce you all to the term Secularism. Basically, Secularism is the belief that religion should not influence or be involved in the organization of society, education and government.

Political Views

Politically, secularism emphasize on separation of religion and government. The constitution emphasizes that all are equal. There will be no discrimination on the basis of religion, caste, creed, color, gender etc. However, there are certain incidents which prove that there are many religion-based conflicts happening around the country owing to people’s mentality towards certain religions. Media never reports such incidents and political parties barely open up regarding such incidents for the fear of losing the votes.

This issue is not just in India but is faced globally by a lot of communities. In US, religious and caste-based incidents can be seen significantly. There are many cases of discrimination faced by blacks in the US.

The parties discuss about everything from employment opportunities to health care facilities. But none of them have guts to come up and fight against the intense cases of religious conflicts .

Wrapping Up

Equality and authority are the right of every individual. It’s 21st century, where we should set the example of equality and unity but nothing much regarding this prevails here. A nation is defined not by the economic power or the military power but by the contours of civilizational traditions. Creating nuisance among the religious programmes and festivals have become a new passion for others. This has to be exposed and dismantled if India wants to develop. It’s high time when a party or our elected government should come forward and work for what really secularism defines. Working for prosperity and neglect degrading any religion.

There are laws that are not being followed. There is government who is greedy for votes. There are people who are searching for more. There is humanity which is lost in all…
