Hans Ashire - I Got Myself Involved In Theatre Acting Then Quickly Moved To TV Dramas, I Emerged As The Champion For A Local Dj Search Reality Competition 'AkuDJRia' (Actor, Singapore)

It’s always a battle between being in trend, in the know or up to date!

1.Tell us about your background and journey.

Oh my my! Where do I begin~ Briefly, I would like to share that I started in the arts scene when I was 16 years old? That was 11 years ago that I got myself involved in theatre acting then quickly moved to tv dramas which didn’t turn out quite well for me.

After 7 years of hard work, self discovery and of course patience, I emerged as the Champion for a local DJ search reality competition - AkuDJRia. My career got a fresh start from there, I became a professional Producer/Presenter and things have been well since!

2. How and where do you find inspiration to churn out content?

Given that I’m witty and always on my toes with things happening in the celebrity world, it was quite easy for a start till i got bored of all the gossips and juices which drove me to read more on current affairs, politics and deeper arts to widen my understanding and interest in content writing.

I don’t have any specific site for my sources but hey contacts are my bullets haha! Good PR = good sources too!

3. How would you go about doing research for a new piece of content?

I would go crazy on a particular topic and not necessarily an interest. I made it a habit to research 360 on a topic so that I got my ass covered in case anything that’s not pleasant or spontaneous arises!

4. Did you ever think or dream of being an actor?

The funny thing is that I've always wanted to be an actor since young but I guess the universe has got better plans for me. So producing, presenting and hosting is the real calling!

5. What is the most challenging thing about your work?

It’s always a battle between being in trend, in the know or up to date! Honestly it’s difficult and challenging to keep up especially with the digital world as a strong element or platform w entertainment. TikTok is not as easy as ABC, ok!

6. What does your work aim to say?

Be in the know and be smart. Never easily fall for fake news. Also life’s too short to be too serious or too career focused, if need be, take a break or pause and appreciate yourself and enjoy life!

7. What’s your philosophy about what makes content great?

A good content is a content that keeps your audience glued from start till end.

8. What is the common misconception people have about what you do?

That i always have someone else producing or writing for me! I always get this! Like hello? Don’t insult my brain, pls haha!

9. What is your long term plan/ future plans?

Exploring different platforms for content. From audio to visuals! My long time dream is to have my own film production company! And it still is!

10. Which is your favourite book and why?

I don’t read books. Actually I have never read any books and some may say that it's bad but i just can’t juggle between reading from social media and a book. I’d rather get on with my random research and study for my own knowledge. You don’t have to always choose a book to be knowledgeable, nowadays it’s being social media smart or source smart for a great knowledge!
