1. Tell us about your background and journey.

It all started in college, when I was overweight and had tried every possible method to lose weight but I couldn’t, for a very long time. For a teenager, who has failed as many times as I did to achieve something you really want, it is a big deal.

But you know what, I eventually did lose weight, the healthy way and was able to maintain it for a couple of years as well. That became the topic of discussion wherever I went, I just wanted to help people and tell them - “Look, I did it, you can too”. That’s when the idea of starting a YouTube Channel came to mind, and here we are today with verified channel and a family of 335k.

2. Is vlogging and YouTube content creation a financially sustainable career?

That’s a tough question, it takes a while for you start making any money and when you eventually do, YouTube pays you but its not at all sustainable, the only real money you see is from brand deals. But, when you do a lot of sponsored content, you lose credibility and authencity. Its a real conundrum. You have to be really smart about deals.

3. Who is your favorite creator and why?

I love Sakshi Sindwani, she’s the ultimate body positivity icon and I could have really used her confidence and content when I was having trouble accepting my body as a teenager. ‘Accepting who are you and loving yourself, no matter what your size is’ is something that took me a while to understand and I truly believe creators like Sakshi, can make a huge difference and in helping people achieve that.

4. How and where do you find inspiration to churn out content?

If you’ve seen my content or watched my videos, I mainly talk from my experience and back it up with tonne of research. I feel logic really gets to people. Whenever I write my scripts, I try adding in real-life examples so that everybody understands. I make content that I myself would really want to see.

5. What does your typical day look like?

I’m almost 8 months pregnant at the moment. So typically, I wake up, do some yoga, breathing exercises, check emails, social media, have some breakfast. Make the plan for the day. Take a nap. Ha Ha. If its a script day, then I sit down, do some research and start writing content, sometimes it takes two days to write one script and sometimes it only takes an hour or two.

Shoot days are busy, getting ready, deciding what to wear, hair, makeup takes about two hours. Then I actually start to shoot, which takes three to four hours. Then editing. It’s a lot of work. In the evening, I usually go for a walk, come back watch some shows and that’s it. That’s a typical day.

6. Which is your favorite book and why?

It has to be “Don’t lose your mind, Lose your weight”, that’s the book that changed my life, got me to where I am today. I owe it all to Rujuta Diwekar and her genius book.

7. What piece of advice would you like to give to future and aspiring creators?

Be relatable. Try to create content with the intention of making a difference in people’s lives.
