Dharshini - Social Media Requires Hard Work, Consistency, and Sportsmanship To Become A Successful Person (Social Media Influencer From India)

Dharshini

A blogger shares their everyday life events whereas an influencer gives you suggestions based on their personal experience on a particular thing/place/event. I belong to both so I categorize myself as a “ blogging influencer”.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I come from a strictly orthodox family where you’re only allowed to pursue either MBBS or Engineering. But modeling and acting was my only dream and I was planning to do visual communication after I finish my schooling. I didn’t do my Neet examination well so I could join the course I like, but fortunately, I got admission to a Medical college.

I’m fortunate because only after joining did I realize how much fun and interesting the course is. Yes! I’m doing my 3rd-year MBBS now and I’m very happy for pursuing this course. Although media is my passion so I’ll be working on both paths simultaneously.

2. What led you to start your page on Instagram and what is it about?

It was at the beginning of 2020 when the corona pandemic was at its peak and we were all put up in lockdown, started doing reels to pass my time but eventually got to know people who genuinely liked the way I conveyed myself.

Within three months I started to do influencer campaigns, model shoots, and short films. Since then it’s been a wonderful journey for me on Instagram and that’s only because of people’s immense love and support. I’ll forever be grateful for everything they do for me.

3. How would you distinguish the term blogger from an influencer?

A blogger shares their everyday life events whereas an influencer gives you suggestions based on their personal experience on a particular thing/place/event. I belong to both so I categorize myself as a “ blogging influencer”.

4. Is it financially sustainable to be an influencer today?

Yes! It is. All you need is the right guidance, dedication, time management, and smart work to sustain yourself in the field.

5. What do you think influences consumer behavior?

Quality management, budget control, and accessibility.

6. What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?

I merely have one mantra in life which is “ never give up “ I’m very adamant when it comes to things I like, I never give up on what I like and always keep trying until I reach my destination.

7. How can someone become a successful social media influencer?

The term success needs a lot of dedication, hard work, and effort, one cannot reach success that easily. Like every other field even social media requires hard work, consistency, and sportsmanship to become a successful person.

8. Which is your favorite book and why?

Honestly, my favorite book is Chetan Bhagat’s two states. Read this book when I was 15 years old and Got impressed by the unconditional love Krish and Ananya had. I saw myself in the character Ananya; bold, tenacious, short-tempered, and resolute.
