Hi, I am AADY RAJ RAY, born and bought up in the city of joy, Kolkata, India,
I am a Mechanical engineer, content writer and graphic designer
2. When and how did you choose to be a graphic designer?
I choose this profession after pass out two years of graduation and getting many of rejections from jobs than after that I started my journey as a content writer and a graphic designer, then I start my career as a freelancer.
3. What is a role and scope of work for a graphic designer?
As a graphic designer, it is a vast subject: here, you have many scopes in this career.
Now we are living in this digital world, where we are all are digitally connected and now every brand and corporate shifted towards in digitally and as a graphic designer, it is also a good thing, where the brands want a graphic designer to make the things to design it better for them.
And, a graphic designer works as a freelancer or corporate.
So, it is a question what difference between them?
In Corporate work, a graphic designer needs to be work on similar or different projects for branding and advertising of a same or different brand or corporates whereas in work as a freelancing a graphic designer can design as the client demand on those projects when they can to work.
4. Which are some of the tools & software that a graphic designer must be aware of?
In graphic designing career the software that everyone should have to know about this software or tools :
- Adobe Photoshop,
- Canva,
- Adobe Illustrator,
- Adobe Aftereffects,
- Adobe XD,
- Adobe InDesign,
- Dreamweaver etc.
And if you are expert in any three of them then that will be enough to design your work.
5. How in your opinion has this profession changed over the years?
Any profession changes throughout the years, with this rapid digitization of the world technology, changed and upgraded themselves, so all the things are quite a little bit changed, but in this graphic designing career has changed itself periodically, before digitalization and social media did it.
Also used in print media and advertising media mostly in the corporate area but in today all branding, promotions, advertising all are now shifted towards digitally and demand also growing up.
6. Do you often have to keep upskilling yourself?
In this digital world, I have to keep updated myself, by learning new things, and I learn new software to upskill myself.
7.How can one develop a keen sense for design and aesthetics?
No book has this answer because you have to practice it and if you love and passionate about this graphic designing that will help you to develop a sense of design.
And you have to keep updated yourself and create new designs.
And at your starting days for aesthetics, you can provide your services at a low price than others to various brands with your best designs and
build a good relationship with your customers.
8. Your favourite book and why?
It is not one book, I read many books, but one of my favourite books is called " Stop giving Excuses" because it learns how to defeat distraction and focus on work.
