Introduction

'Passion', is a word we must have heard of at least once in our lives so far. 

Passion is basically the determination to pursue something or achieve something that is of your interest. Usually, passion is misinterpreted as one's hobby, which is not the case. Passion may emerge from a hobby but is not the same as a hobby. It is a strong feeling or emotion that an individual contains within himself/herself.

A child is often said to have a hobby along with academics. It is really appreciated when a kid can perform dance, sing beautifully, play piano, and much more. 

But is it appreciated by society when that same kid wants to pursue that hobby as his/her passion? Are they open to opportunities where passion can become a career?

Notions about Passion as a Career

It is often appreciated when a student takes up a hobby like dancing, singing, playing instruments, and playing sports. But when the same student admires the passion of his/her career, it is not permissible by the so-called society. 

Converting passion into a career is not accepted as a stable and safe option. 

It is often perceived that pursuing passion would not lead to success. For many of the citizens of the society, it is believed that pursuing passion will not fetch an individual the same salary and reputation that a 9 to 5 office job can fetch him/her.

These notions regarding pursuing passion as a career are false. If a person follows his/her passion i.e. the activity he/she loves then it will definitely lead to success with time. 

Passion as Career

One's passion can drive one's career. A passion does not have to be something adventurous or leisurely, it can be your profession. Nowadays, a lot of people believe in their passion and go after it to convert it into the form of a career. 

How to convert Passion into a Career?

  1. Analyze your interests: Discover activities that make you happy and grab your interest in them. It could be anything from cultural activities to technology-related stuff. The point is that you should be interested in it. 

  2. Enhance the activity: Enhance the activity and take your love for the same to the next stage. Try to excel in the activity. Once you have decided about your passion, the next step is to enhance it by indulging in it. In order to pursue the activity as your career, you need to become a pro in it which will eventually come by practice. 

  3. Know about the competition: Before entering any industry, it is essential that you analyze the competition present in the industry. Analyzing the demand, it is meant that the job opportunities, as well as the competitors applying for the positions, should be known about. A rough idea can be taken about the job side of the industry. 

  4. Build a plan: It is essential to build a plan of action that you would follow to convert your passion into a profession. List down the steps that would be needed from start to end. It is important to list down your plan of action to have clarity about the goal. 

  5. List down the challenges: It is obvious to face some challenges while going after your passion. And if you list the potential challenges, you will be ready to face them already. It would also prepare you to build a plan to overcome such hurdles and excel in your goal. 

  6. Take professional help: Sometimes it is essential to seek professional guidance to build up a career out of something you love to do. Such kind of professional help often makes the individual ready to face the challenges that would be coming in his/her path and helps the individual to excel in the thing he/she loves to do. 

  7. Be open to feedback: While going after the passion, there are high chances of committing errors and to avoid them it is necessary that one is open to feedback and reviews. Such suggestions help one to overcome the mistakes he/she is making and start with a fresh mindset. Every new idea or feedback would improve the performance.

Conclusion 

Passion, which is not supposed to take the form of a career can indeed be a great career. It is rightly said that if one follows his/her passion it would eventually lead to success. Like any other profession, if efforts are put in then one’s passion would lead him/her to new heights.
