Kareena Tekwani Interview
"Being featured in Forbes has been one of the biggest milestones of my journey, along with the constant love from my audience."
Q. People see the glamorous side online. Who is Kareena beyond the camera, and how did this journey begin?
From the outside, my life as a content creator may look glamorous, happy, and effortless. But what people don’t always see are the struggles, breakdowns, and sleepless nights behind the scenes. That doesn’t mean I don’t love what I do, I just choose to protect those harder parts so I can show up with intention and create content that’s authentic and meaningful.
Before content creation, I was just a regular college-going girl with big dreams. I was deeply involved in studies, co-curriculars, and college events, always active and curious. Content creation started unexpectedly in my first year of college when I randomly recorded a makeup tutorial while getting ready for an event. That video blew up, and it completely changed how I looked at content. What began as a hobby slowly turned into a passion worth pursuing seriously.
Absolutely. During college, I constantly heard my friends talk about how makeup felt expensive and out of reach. Everyone wanted good-quality products but within a reasonable budget. Those conversations stayed with me.
I started researching, ordering, and testing budget-friendly beauty products that actually worked. When I shared them online, people genuinely resonated with it. The response made me realize how much impact this kind of content could have, and that became a core reason for my growth on social media.
I regularly take feedback from my audience through weekly or monthly Q&A sessions. That helps me understand what they genuinely want to see. Based on that, I choose content ideas that feel relevant and useful, and then I add my own perspective.
Blindly following trends has never been my approach, whether it’s viral formats or hyped products. I believe in a journey-based, honest review system, sharing what actually worked for me, with detailed feedback rather than quick hype.
That’s when I started supporting her regularly, which eventually led to my series #SupportingSmallBusiness. Every three months, I select and purchase from five small businesses and feature them organically without sponsorship.
One morning, I received a DM from one of the featured brands. Their office was filled with packed orders ready to be dispatched, along with the sweetest voice notes thanking me. That moment stayed with me, and it’s exactly why I continue this series even today.
Gratitude for this life, for small moments of joy, and for every struggle that shaped my journey. I’m genuinely thankful to be living a life that many people aspire to, and that perspective helps me stay rooted even when the internet gets loud.

Q. Your content makes beauty feel affordable. Did that mission grow from personal experience?

Q. You’ve supported many small businesses and creators along the way. Has there been a moment when you realised your influence truly changed someone’s life?
Yes, and it’s something I’ll never forget. When I started creating content, one of my close friends had just launched her small business. She often shared how difficult it was to get leads or sales, especially with fast fashion dominating Instagram. That’s when I started supporting her regularly, which eventually led to my series #SupportingSmallBusiness.
