Offence - Types of Offence - Law


Offence: Any act of omission of DOs and commission of DON'T's results into offence/wrong which entails punishment and/or penalty. There are two main types of Offences: 
  1. Civil
  2. Criminal
  • Civil - Plaintiff vs Defendant
  • Criminal - State vs Accused
  • Criminal cases can be classified under two main categories:
  1. Less Serious - Compoundable and Non-Cognizable
  2. More Serious - Non-Compoundable and Cognizable
