Once you join BOYL as a member, you will be working alongside your peers from different parts of the country. You will also attend a conference, named as the Youth Leadership Conference. During this conference, you will get many opportunities to speak in front of people in an environment that promotes learning. You will not be able to come out of your shell and learn unless you are being put in an environment that is very non judgemental and conducive to learning. YLC offers exactly that. There will also be some training sessions of how to be a better public speakers, wherein you will learn tricks and tips of doing so. And at the same time, get a platform wherein people are willing to listen to you.
And eventually, you will get an opportunity to become a team leader as well. As a team leader, you will have a team with whom you will have to communicate effectively. As a leader, you will be required to inspire them and train them, and in the process of doing so, you will learn how to communicate more efficiently and effectively. Once you have attended YLC as a member, you get an opportunity to attend YLC as a level 2 delegate. By being a level 2 delegate, you get to experience the conference once again from other side of the table. You will be taught how to deliver a session and will be hand held during the preparation of a kickass session. At such a young age, you will get a platform to deliver that session to an audience that wants to listen to you. You will get a hands on public speaking experience during YLC and can get more of that by coming for the conference as a Level 3 and 4 delegate subsequently.
