1. Tell us more about your company and your journey.

I run a full service creative digital agency called as Digitalkari. It helps brands and businesses worldwide, absolutely nail their content and digital marketing needs. I still remember my dad bought me a laptop in class 8th.
From an early age I was exposed to this endless world of internet. I was a curious child who always wanted to know more about the world and internet was my perfect tool. I enrolled as a Computer Science Engineering student in the year 2016. I was an average student based on my grades in college but apart from my grades I think I did pretty well in real world. I was selected to present my research on “Behaviour Analytics on Social Media” at Data Science Congress in Mumbai in my first year. I went to Malaysia at the end of my 2nd year as a research Intern in the field of Artificial Intelligence and also made money developing websites online back then. I have always been a person who believes in creating and grabbing opportunities and with the power of internet it was like a cherry on the cake.  I was already making money by doing my freelance gigs, then I went on and helped few companies double their revenue using digital marketing.
One of my close friend was a blogger and a design student back then. Her work made me realise the power of content. With the technical expertise and the idea that old form of advertising wasn’t that effective and measurable, I created Digitalkari. My technical background and creative mind helped me to work at the junction of Art and Science to deliver amazing results in the real world. Gradually I fell in love with marketing and branding and the influence of technology on it. Digitalkari is growing at a fast pace and being a millennial driven organisation we won’t ever stop innovating.

2. What has been your biggest challenge that you faced and how did you overcome that?

Online Advertising and Marketing is an ever changing field but its core values always remain the same. Technology has always had a great impact on how we consume content and where we consume it. My biggest challenge was that how to stay on top of it and not getting left behind. I overcame that by rapid experimentation and innovation.

3. What do you think are the most important qualities of a successful entrepreneur?

I have a long way to go and I am constantly thriving to improve. But, I believe that the quality of “Not Giving up” is something which has always kept me going. Even if you take everything from me today, I’ll go and build it again. ‘Not giving up’ is non negotiable for me and obviously ‘constantly thriving to improve’ is another one which has helped me grow. Otherwise I follow a small principle of “ Out Work, Out Strategize and Out Last ”

4. What are some of the most important factors for running a successful business?

A lot of people often end up creating the perfect strategy but it never gets executed. You can get knowledge through people, online courses or the internet but until and unless you take action on that nothing is going to happen. Execution is an important factor and constantly innovating is another one.

5. What are your tips for first time and aspiring entrepreneurs?

My tips for aspiring entrepreneurs will be:
  • Don’t get stuck in analysis paralysis
  • Don’t fall for “get rich quick” schemes
  • Have long term goals
  • Don’t be afraid of competitors

6. How can one overcome a hurdle of lack of funds when starting up?

At a very early stage, most of the big companies were bootstrapped. If you want to make your idea work, you’ll find a way.
At the end of the day it’s always a team effort. Join communities, interact with people, find a co-founder, there are many ways to start your business, you just have to be willing to work.
There are few question you should ask yourself before even raising any kind of money:
  1. How will the money be used?
  2. Should you even raise money today?
  3. Do you want to go big or have control?
