1.Tell us more about your background and journey.

Hi, I am Abdul Wahab Issam Ali Al-jaifi. I am a painter by profession. I have graduated from The University of Modern Sciences Yemen in Sana'a Languages.

2. When did you decide you wanted to be an painter/illustrator?

I didn't decide to be a painter. The self-imposed hobby began its tale from 2010 but it was very simple yet it evolved from 2013 when I started using coal, and then I learned graffiti and the art of caricature.

3. Is it a financially stable career?

Painting does not represent a fixed income, so it is not considered a physically stable profession, but sometimes the money we get is sweet.

4. Who is your favourite illustrator and why?

I'm a big fan of a foreign painter named Charles Lavisso. His works are just outright awesome and have a special touch to them, which are a true replica of his feelings and his surroundings.

5. Where do you get inspired from to create art?

The inspiration for me is to have a good mood then I can draw. Also, the things that surrounds me also have a huge impact on the outcome of my painting. So many things matter on giving me inspiration for my paintings.

6. What does your typical day look like?

My day starts like any normal citizen, but it's full of imagination, sometimes I sit around thinking about changing and adding a lot of things everywhere, my house, my place of work, my neighborhood or my car. But material things and society are often a major obstacle in my life.

7. What piece of advice would you like to give to future aspiring illustrators?

My advice to future aspiring painters is that art is not a source of income. You have to keep in mind that if you are thinking to chose Painting as a source of income then please don't because it's something that is to be done out of love and passion.

8. Which is your favorite book and why?

I always love history books as they give me strength and a great sense of enjoyment.
