1. Tell us more about your experience as an educator.

Myself as an educator possessed wide knowledge not only in my subject but also in other areas. I love teaching that’s I choose teaching as my profession. As an educator I think from my experience teaching is something that is positively associated with student achievement gains throughout my career.

As an educator, I gained lot and lot of wonderful experiences, which helped me further to increase my effectiveness, and to build a glorious working career. At each stage of my teaching career I learnt lot from my peers as well as from my students and the most important lesson I learnt was “ Change is a constant” and

“Learning how to adapt and adjust, that’s been one of the skills that’s been most helpful in my career” .

2. What is your opinion of the Indian education system and how would you like to change that?

We are following old patterns. Education system must make the students think critically and lead them to creativity. I prefer this change and I’m working towards it and making my students to engage in many activities which are based on critical thinking and logical reasoning.

The Indian education system must encourage schools to introduce conceptual learning which will prevent students from learning by the means of mug upping which is of no use as the students will not gain enough knowledge and can’t be able to implement what are the concepts they have learnt into their practical life.

3. What changes in the teaching methodologies have you seen in the recent times?

ABL, ALM and SABL are some of the methodologies I have seen in recent times. ABL teaching methodology is nothing but Activity Based learning which a range of pedagogical approaches to teaching is. Its core premises include the requirement that learning should be based on doing some hands-on experiments and activities. The idea of activity-based learning is rooted in the common notion that children are active learners rather than passive recipients of the information.

If the child is provided the opportunity to explore by their own and provided an optimum learning environment then the learning becomes joyful and long lasting.

Whereas the Active Learning Method (ALM) involves learners doing something and then reflecting on what it is that they have done. It seeks to improve learners' critical thinking, problem solving and comprehension skills. SABL is mainly followed in government schools, which is to bring effective learning environment in schools.

4. How does education help one do well in their career?

Education provide knowledge and skill to do well in their career. Education helps one to gain knowledge, skills and experience which helps a person both in their career and in life in general. Mostly importantly, if one learn by gaining additional skills in communication and problem solving and achieving your goals than those can easily help to increase their confidence level.

Education will help to open many new doors in our life and also paves ways towards a better career.

5. Do you think teaching as a profession is viewed at par with corporate jobs?

No, teaching is not viewed at par with corporate jobs from my point of view as teaching is seen completely in a different perspective from corporate jobs as teaching and corporate jobs are two different sides of a coin but the time when its seen as a single coin is when the students who are mentored and grown up by the teachers enters into a corporate job with the knowledge given by the teachers as the basic input which as the foundation for them to enter into the corporate jobs.

6. How can we technology to adopt make teaching more effective?

We can use different Apps for Assessment, learning through games etc. Online resources, Virtual Classes, grading software etc. can also be used. Schools can use various education applications like Google classroom or Moodle to post their class materials and also to collect the student’s assignment works from each one.

These applications can also be used to get the personal feedback from each student to post their queries related to their subjects so that the teacher can enhance their teaching methodologies.

These use of these applications are now growing up and are used in various schools but the miserable thing is these technologies have not yet reached many government schools as they are present in the bottom of the pyramid and also due the lack of awareness towards the new technological changes.

7. Why does India need more educators like you?

Because we inspire the students, play the role of a facilitators, nurture critical and independent thinking and make them a good citizen therefore India definitely needs more educators like me to pave way towards prosperous future.

8. Which is your favorite book and why?

The most favorite book I have ever read is "Homo Deus". A brief History of Tomorrow by Yuval Noah Harari. It describes humanity's current abilities, achievements and attempts to paint an image of the future. It is my favorite one of all times, because it is one of those rare books, which exceeds expectations.

If you enjoyed Sapiens you will want to read Homo Deus, it is possibly the most thought-provoking book of the year. I personally felt that the beginning sort of summarizes Homo sapiens but I enjoyed the writing style of this author, then it is definitely a philosophical exercise to process the book which would affect your personal future.
