1. Tell us about your background and journey.

Born and brought up in Bhubaneswar, the Capital city of Odisha. I have done my Dual degree Course in Biotechnology from KIIT School of Biotechnology, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Later I have worked for NIF-India which is an autonomous body of ‘Department of Science and Technology’ (DST), Government of India for a couple of months.

My interest in creating content on Instagram developed during my work life in NIF-India which gave me exposure to a lot of new things and that is when I decided to give it a try.

2. When did you first decide that you wanted to create content and how did you start?

Since childhood, I had a keen interest in painting, writing short stories and poems. Besides, I always loved learning and exploring new things. Since my work in NIF-India was mostly field-based, so I had to travel to new places.

As they say, “Travelling teaches you a lot”, I got to explore many new cultures, their local food also side by getting acquainted with some new languages. Since then, I wanted to share my experiences with the world through my Instagram page. I started this page since July 2019.

Initially, this page was more about food. Since I love traveling, later I started including my travel experiences as well. Recently, I have also included Fashion to my page which mostly includes outfit ideas. From being invited to Blogger meetups to this interview, It was all worth the effort I put on to my content.

3. Is vlogging and Instagram content creation a financially sustainable career?

Since the world is getting more digital nowadays and people are heading more towards social platforms, we can see Digital Marketing growing along with it exponentially. One needs to put on their effort and hard work, build a good amount of Audience and they are good to go.

Also! Apart from this, I believe if you love doing something and are putting your hard work and effort into it, you can very well build a good sustainable career out of it.

4. Who is your favorite creator and why?

Well! There are many actually. I look up to @gastrohogger and @hyderabadfooddiaries when it comes to food, @shenaztreasury when it comes to travel, and @komalpandeyofficial when it comes to fashion. They show how your passion will lead you to your success one day. Their dedication towards their work and the hard work they put on, inspires me a lot.

5. How and where do you find inspiration to churn out content?

I have always been a big admirer of creativity since my childhood. I loved painting, writing short stories and poems, photography, loved learning new things, and loved exploring new places, and trying out new outfits.

It would certainly be My family and my Best friend who has definitely inspired me to pursue my passion and creativity. They have always kept me motivated throughout. To churn out content, I get inspiration from my daily life and sometimes from fellow creators as well. I love learning and getting inspired by everyone I come across.

6. What does your typical day look like?

So basically, I get up around 7:30 am morning, freshen up and have my breakfast. Then I go through the newspaper, attend some online lectures, and have my lunch. After taking an hour's nap, I decide about the content I have to put on for the day. After deciding, there is editing work and write up preparation.

Then I have some tea and By 5:30 am or 6 am, I work out a bit for an hour. Then I put on my content on Instagram around 7 or 7:30 am followed by attending lectures or self-study for a couple of hours. Then I watch some News or Vlogs including painting tutorials, makeover videos, and Science facts and so on or sometimes I even do painting as well. By 11 or 11 30 am, I have my dinner, then I talk to my friends or read a book and go to sleep.

7. Which is your favorite book and why?

It would definitely be ‘Wings of Fire’. ‘The People’s President’ Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam has been my all-time inspiration due to his Vision. From being born to a poor Tamil family in a small town of Tamil Nadu and struggling personally and professionally, to becoming an aerospace scientist.

Being the recipient of several prestigious awards including ‘Bharat Ratna’ and to be called the ‘Missile Man of India’, every page of this book is an inspiration.

8. What piece of advice would you like to give to future and aspiring creators?

From my personal experience, One thing I would like to advise is ‘If you love doing something, don’t ever fear to give it a try’. It might take time to get on the track; to build a good audience but once you put your heart into something, people start liking your content. And do not ever stop learning.

Learn from your fellow creators. Focus on what you are missing out and follow your passion with all your heart and soul.
