1. Tell us about your role and responsibility at your college?

I am a Senior Member at Placement Cell, Gargi College. So we get a lot of different opportunities from various companies which we coordinate and present to our college students. During the complete process we are involved and see to it that no problems and differences occur from any side. We try to do whatever is in our hands to get our students the best of opportunities and strive to groom ourselves and our college students.

Further more I also have a small venture of Chocolaterie & Bakery, which I am running single handed. It is also a great journey and it is still continued. I am learning a lot of skills like people skills, networking skills, design marketing, time management, event planning and much more.

2. How can we encourage more young students such as yourself to take up leadership role?

I don't feel there is any need to encourage students to take up leadership roles. The ones who have the skill or a willingness to develop it, they are quite capable of observing and grabbing such opportunities themselves. Every person is unique and have their own skills and aptitudes, encouraging someone to take leadership would be like encouraging someone to change their personality.

3. What have been your biggest challenges and learning from what you do?

My biggest challenge has been to manage my time well and incorporate all the projects and events efficiently.
So I am still learning, but till now I have learned that it is very important to have a very well planned and organised daily schedule so that when you are involved in so many things then you are able to do justice to each project or event.

4. What are your career goals and how is what you are doing is going to help you with that?

I will take up Entrepreneurship and Business as my career path.
My learning and experiences in Placement Cell and MAGNUS (Chocolaterie & Bakery) are very integral in shaping me. I am learning Team Management, Event planning, promotion and execution, Relationship building and maintaining, leadership and much more. One can never have too many skills if they want to go for Entrepreneurship, so I try to take up most of the opportunities coming my way and make best use out of it.

5. What's your message to encourage students to do internships and attend conferences?

Doing internships and conferences are the best learning experiences one can get. All the real life skills that we learn during these are not taught in books and lectures. So I would just like to convey that everyone must gain meaningful work experience and knowledge from internships and conferences. If they have it all planned out they can seek relevant experience otherwise anything which interests them they should just go and do it.
