1. Tell us more about your role and responsibilities at your college.

My role involves connecting to HR managers of different firms, pitch to them and make sure that they recruit students from the college. It also involves planning individual development programs for students to equip themselves for coming placement season.

2. What's it like to juggle between a leadership role and normal college life?

I have always been a very social person and haven't found it difficult to manage both the roles. Managing both will not be an issue until we realize that both are important and give equal significance.

3. What have been some of your biggest challenges and learning from what you do?

Challenges - There aren't much challenges that I face

Learning -
  • We should consider leadership roles as a responsibility not as an entitlement
  • Being a wartime leader is much more important than being a peacetime leader

4. Do you enjoy the kind of influence you hold at such a young age?

Yes, but I consider this as a responsibility which is given to me.

5. What are your career goals and how is what you are doing is going to help you with that?

I want to be a brand manager in a FMCG company. I think I am doing the same here in placement committee as well in which I am trying to build the brand of our college, market it to the recruiters and finally converting them.

6. What did you do in your current role that makes you feel really proud of yourself?

There were more than 30 people who lost their internship opportunities due to COVID 19. We could place all the people before June 1st such that they will get at-least a month of internship.

I felt so proud because in most of the colleges, students were asked to do a study project and hence were not able to get an industry exposure.

7. What's your message to encourage students to do internships and attend conferences?

Placement season for the next year will definitely have a very negative impact because of COVID 19.

I would like to ask them to take responsibilities on their own in the firms in which they do internship, do different courses, admix with people who can impart knowledge and make sure that you cut through the clutter next year.
