1. Tell
us more about your experience as an educator.
I started
working as an educator 2 years back. It is an amazing job with a lot of
responsibility since we are the one shaping the young minds of our country. It
is quote fun especially with the little kids and can be tough when with
teenagers. Overall I enjoy teaching even though it was never my dream job.
2. What
is your opinion of the Indian education system and how would you like to change
that?
About
Indian education system I would like to say that CBSE is not the best since it
is less practical and more theory cramming. It should include more listening
and speaking activities and should allow them to take efforts to do creative
things rather than spoon feeding them.
3. What
changes in the teaching methodologies have you seen in the recent times?
In the
recent times very commonly is pdf smart classes has increased and this had been
quite helpful as visual impact is better than pure words. Also making projects
and presenting in exhibitions is a good change.
4. How
does education help one do well in their career?
I believe
education has everything to do with someone's career not only academically but
also for one's personality and life values. Education helps one to see difference
between right and wrong and teaches about how to make choices in their lives.
5. Do
you think teaching as a profession is viewed at par with corporate jobs?
Since I
work in the private sector I would mention that being in the initial years I
feel this job is not valued as much as it should be. I teach more than 3
subjects too many classes and I feel my hard work is undervalued. Also you can
yourself see how rarely students say that they want to be a teacher.
6. How
can we adopt technology to make teaching more effective?
Smart
classes obviously as I mentioned before.
During the
pandemic we can see the excellent use of technology in online classes.
Also all
the project and models that students make the main source is internet.
7. Why
does India need more educators like you?
I would
like remain humble while answering this. I can only say that everyone in this
field shouldn't take this as a profession but a task to bring the best in
students and to work harder than them so that we can inspire them.
8. Which
is your favorite book and why?
I am not
much into reading but I used to read back then. I like the autobiography of Mahatma
Gandhi and another book I like is The Selfish gene by Richard Dawkins which I
read during my M.Sc in microbiology.
