1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I am just a small town girl with big dreams. I belong to Ranchi which is a small and beautiful town in the heart of Jharkhand.  Blogging was never a part of the plan as I was a science student and graduated as an engineer.

But I was always passionate about creating content and used to click and post pictures from the places i visited on a daily basis. I was also a part of the fashion team of my college which introduced me to the world of fashion.

I remember walking the ramps in those designer pieces and how happy that made me. It all started when the people started noticing my content and the audience began to grow on my page. Soon after this, the brands started approaching me for promoting their products.

2. What led you to start your page on Instagram and what is it about?

I remember creating my Instagram page in the first year of college to post random pictures of me as I used to click a lot of them. Gradually as i stepped into the world of fashion, i posted more about fashion, my daily ootds and my audience seemed to like my fashion content.

Hence, the savage fashionista was born. Savage because that’s what i am and fashionista because that’s what ive always been ! I have been in this profession for more than 2 years now and at this point, if you look at my page, you ll find fashion, beauty and lifestyle content.

3. How would you distinguish the term blogger from an influencer?

Every blogger is an influencer but not every influencer is a blogger.

A blogger generally writes about the things they want to promote and they have a page for that(a blog). But the influencers promote the products on the social media accounts with help of pictures.

4. Is it financially sustainable to be an influencer today?

Looking at the financial side of this profession, yes it is sustainable but it is not stable.

There are days when you get numerous projects and then there are days when you get nothing at all. The earnings are not fixed and i strongly disagree with the people who say that bloggers make ‘easy money’. Like all other professions do require  time and effort, so does blogging. Blogging is not a day job, it's a 24*7 job.

There are instances when we don't get paid according to the efforts we put in and that is disappointing.

5. What do you think influences consumer behavior?

According to me, the psychological factor plays a major part in influencing a consumer’s behaviour.

A follower will only buy the products promoted by you if they are able to relate to it psychologically or personally. Hence, the campaigns are concept based which appeal to the audience watching it.

6. What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?

My idea of success in life is to be consistent and believe strongly in yourself. You can do something great only if you believe you can do it.  Believing is the first step.

7. How can someone become a successful social media influencer?

For becoming a successful social media influencer, firstly one should understand how it works. Creating good content (that appeals to people) and posting consistently will help you grow your audience and grab good attention. Also, connecting with your audience is a must. Once you understand what the audience wants, you ll be able to grow strategically.

8. Which is your favorite book and why?

My read a lot of books, I have been doing so since i was quite young. Reading is a good habit too and improves your vocabulary. I don't have a favourite book in particular but i love reading fiction novels.

Sidney Sheldon books are my favourite- because of their strong female characters and the way they are portrayed. Another book that i highly recommend is ‘the secret’ by Rhonda byrne.
