1. Tell us more about your role & responsibilities at your college.

So as you asked about my roles and responsibilities at my college! So, starting from session 2017-18, I was selected as Technical Event Coordinator at the Society of Petroleum Engineers Graphic Era University Student Chapter, which is registered under SPE INTERNATIONAL. I was responsible for any of the Technical Events organized under the banner of the GEU SPE Student Chapter. I had to arrange or fulfill the technical requirements of the events. Then coming to the session 2018-19, I was selected and promoted as Vice-president of the Chapter, where I had to work with the President of the Chapter in fulfilling the Chapter's Goal for the session and had to act on behalf of President in his absence!

Also, In the same session, I was selected as Student Placement Representative of the College where I was given the responsibility for the hospitality of the company person coming to the University for Placement Drives and also was a responsible person as I had to gather and submit the Student Data eligible for Placements and to help out in carrying outplacement drives smoothly! Then In my Final year, I was promoted and selected as President of the SPE GEU Student Chapter, and was the wholesome responsible person for each and every conduct of the Student Chapter, who have to conduct and manage Technical Events, Non-Technical Events, Conferences, Guest Lectures, Workshops, Career Skills Workshops, Field Trips, National Fest, etc.

So this was all about my roles and responsibilities during my college days!

2. How did you rise up to your position and how can a student aspiring the same, approach it?

To achieve something, One must have a Goal, Planning, and Dedication! This was my strategy! Whenever I decide my goal, I just Dedicate myself to the plan to achieve it! So, I'll suggest to the Young energy that first identifies your goal and then Dedicate yourself to achieve it!

3. What have been some of your biggest challenges and learnings from what you do?

The Biggest and toughest Challenges that I had faced during my leadership role and college life too was -
To cop up with my studies and all the other extra-curricular activities that I had to do as My duty! So, With proper Planning, Sincerity, and discipline, I was able to do them efficiently and effectively! That taught me the Lessons of Discipline, Planning, Dedication, and Time Management, which obviously will be beneficial for the rest of my life as well! It's hard to manage sometimes, but worth it! Being into a leadership role takes you to do extracurricular activities that need time apart from your college life, so require extra efforts!

But having good team and friends with you, who not only boosts your work and keeps you energetic for the whole of the time, but also, keeps you motivated and can lead you to do those required extra efforts easily! So, It's hard sometimes to cop up, but, worth it!

4. What did you do in your current role that makes you feel really proud of yourself?

Currently, I am just about to graduate, and getting an Engineering degree without backlogs and with so much of experience, really makes me proud! And As far as My current role is concerned that is Being Chapter's President, The most amazing aspect that makes me proud of myself is conducting Chapter's First-Ever National Fest named as SPE GEU FEST'20 and making the dreams of previous and current members of the chapter a reality!

Being at such a young age and inspiring others really motivates me more to do my best and keeps me full of positivity! I still remember the College days when I used to get messages and call that you inspires us, motivates us to do our best, Keep it up, etc. from leaders & team members of other Students

5. What's your message to encourage students to do internships and attend conferences?

Being a student, as far as Internships and Conferences are concerned, they are the most important aspect in the life of Student, when its comes to gaining Real World Working Exposure, as they bridge the gap between academics and industry! Internships teach you a lot, They allow you to harness the theoretical knowledge, skills that you have gained so far! They enable you to gain First-hand exposure to working in the real world. They help you in refining your skills and gain valuable experience! They really boost your soft skills!

So I would suggest to not to waste time during your vacations/ breaks, instead Join an organization and refine your skills, learn and Improve!
