1. Tell us more about your role & responsibilities at your college.

If I speak about my role & responsibilities at my college so currently I hold the post of Inter-University Liaison for GEU SPE Student Chapter 2020-21. SPE(Society of Petroleum Engineers) promotes the exchange of technical knowledge within the upstream oil and gas industry internationally. I am really glad to be a part of such a big international organization where I can showcase my abilities and talent and get to gain a lot of knowledge.

2. How did you rise up to your position and how can a student aspiring the same, approach it?

In the first year of my college, I got the opportunity to showcase my leadership qualities through a non-technical event named MONTAGE 2.0, where I gave my best and got known for my hard work and determination towards my responsibilities. Then I got connected with SPE Student Chapter of our college. There I had joined as a volunteer, but my determination and hard work towards the chapter gave me the position of a Co-Head in our GEU SPE SC FEST 2020. Due to my work record for session 2019-20, this year I was given the position of Inter-University Liaison for session 2020-21. I have seen a lot of personality development in myself in this course of time.

3. What have been some of your biggest challenges and learnings from what you do?

The biggest challenge for me was that being a student of computer applications I was working for something which was a totally different field for me. Computer Applications and Petroleum are totally two different fields. But due to our HOD of Petroleum Department Dr. Pradeep Joshi, who has been an inspiration for all of us, gave us the motive to work for this society. It has been really beneficial for me as I got to learn so much about the petroleum field.

4. What did you do in your current role that makes you feel really proud of yourself?

Being an IUL my role is to build connections with other colleges and due to this responsibility of mine, I got the opportunity to connect with some of the leading colleges of our nation like DU, PDPU, and IIT’s. I feel really proud to represent my college and my SPE Student Chapter on such a big platform. Due to the current situations, we are organizing online Technical, Non-Technical Events, and guest lectures which keeps me connected to my work and responsibilities.

But right now I have much more to achieve. More success and achievement to come ahead.

5. What's your message to encourage students to do internships and attend conferences?

To all my friends and colleagues, a humble request to all to do take part in internships and conferences and are being held usually. They are really helpful, sometimes we get to learn big lessons for life from great speakers. U get to gain knowledge and inspiration to do something big in your life.
