1. Tell us more about your role & responsibilities at your college?

I'm currently head of Photography department at Doon business school, it's been a remarkable experience for me, My role was pretty simple, managing camera crew which includes equipment’s, my teammates and handling while situation impactfully so that we can't lose a moment because photography is all about capturing that moment which can fulfill your requirements.

2. How did you rise up to your position and how can a student aspiring the same, approach it?

In starting when I came to the first year, I didn't even know how to hold a camera, the situation was pretty tough, but what required was total determination which is must for anything even for photography, so I learned as time goes on which was a really good experience because photography is not about just a photo it's about emotion, felling which you can feel while capturing it. A student who wants to get into this field should learn basics which I think is patience because anyone can click a photo but what is difference between normal person and photographer is just the way to see the whole situation and it requires time, you have to give your everything to get the best.

3. What have been some of your biggest challenges and learnings from what you do?

I think the biggest challenge of my photographic life was the approach towards anything, sometimes we get irregular times were without any prior information we are called that's where problems are generated, we don't know the place, people and lighting because whenever we go for the shoot we do location hunt where an hour we reach to the spot get all the information regarding and plan the shoot with the teammates and divide roles and responsibilities towards it.

4. What did you do in your current role that makes you feel really proud of yourself?

I'm really proud of myself not because I'm leading the team or something it's really good to lead but what's the best is to carry that learning attitude which will lead you to the milestone which is like capturing a rare animal it just pumps so much blood which makes me so happy and motivates me to go with the flow. When you work with the team you need to maintain that coordination which will avoid mishappenings which is for a photographer is missing the moment which could be disastrous which we don't want.

5. What's your message to encourage students to do internships and attend conferences?

I think Aspiring students should carry the learning attitude which will encourage them and give positive attitude to grow and you won't grow in a day or months it requires times, with time I mean years of hard work which will give you a remarkable practical knowledge about photography. “Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving.

What you have caught on film is captured forever… It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything (Aaron Siskind). I would say students should never miss any opportunities like internships or conference because here you will get the practical knowledge which is must from experience Holder, they tell you something different from your books and one thing is clear that you can't learn photography with books, you have to go to outdoor and explore the mother nature and variety.
