1. Tell us about your background and journey.

Born and bred in a small city called Kota (Raj.) in India. Since my very childhood, I love dressing up and getting lots of pictures clicked! I absolutely love creating different outfits by simply draping my mom’s dupatta or saree. I have always been very fond of colours.

Sometimes, I would even try and create my own fashion trend. A lot of my school friends or my younger sister for that matter would come up to me for getting some fashion tips and tricks. Thus, I decided to use my love for fashion to help more people and take this to a new level.

2. What led you to start your page on Instagram and what is it about?

I started my Instagram handle 5yrs back when I was getting my bachelors degree in Mass Media from Mumbai. One of my cousins encouraged me to start my handle. Initially, I would just create simple looks and ask my cousins or friends to click my pictures using my phone.

But later I started getting a hold of it, and then I could see an increase in my followers which would encourage me to create more content. This led to many well renowned brands like Accessorize, Lavie, Flyrobe, Gillette, Himalayas etc and also a lot of photographers approaching me for collaboration which helped me in improving the quality and quantity of my content. I would call myself a lifestyle influencer, as my page is about fashion, food, travel and other daily tips and tricks!

3. How would you distinguish the term blogger from an influencer?

A blogger is someone with a website where they write blogs and publish their original content! Whereas an influencer is someone who have a large impact on the audience and their decision making power because of their massive following.

4. Is it financially sustainable to be an influencer today?

If you treat it like your only business then yes it is surely sustainable. But for me it was never my first career path, I started this as my hobby or side business. As professionally I want to be a filmmaker. So for me personally it isn’t that financially sustainable.

5. What do you think influences consumer behavior?

In today’s scenario, social media has resulted in the evolution of social proofs as a greater force for buying decisions. That's why marketers are making social space more transparent by sharing reviews, comments, likes, tweets and pins of their happy customers to generate brand trust and increase conversion rate. I also feel promotions, discounts and deals on social media also influences consumer behaviour too.

6. What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?

My idea of success is to live in the present, enjoy every moment with my near and dear ones. To travel a new place every year. And having all the freedom to do what I love.

7. How can someone become a successful social media influencer?

The first main thing for becoming a social media influencer is to understand your target audience, one should know who they are targeting. They should build a connection with their audience by interacting with them on a regular basis and by staying active on their page.

8. Which is your favorite book and why?

My favourite book is “Power of Your Subconscious Mind” by Joseph Murphy. It is a great read and would highly recommend it. This book shows how changing our thought patterns can produce dramatic improvements in your life. Using practical, easy-to-understand techniques and real world case studies.
