1. Tell us about your background and journey?

My creative journey started right from her school days. I was drawn to art and had a brazen passion for drawing and sketching. When everyone else turned to their books, I took the unconventional path and chose Visual Communication at Amrita College where I got fascinated by the course in photography. Gradually, I started earning recognition and accolades for the  photographs taken by me.

2. How and when did you realise your passion for photography?

With my brother’s support, I launched my Facebook page titled ‘Athira Sidharth’s Artistic Expression’. This was followed by my stint in journalism and I landed a coveted job with NDTV. But my undying love for photography made me quit my journalism career and take up a job with a creative agency ‘Zook’, a start-up company where I took the lead and picked up the finer nuances of photography; the lighting, studio photography, food photography, fashion photography and so on. Along the road I got the opportunity to work with many high-end brands and celebrity clients.

Soon enough, I pirouetted to the position of ‘Senior Photographer’ and decided to resign to foray into the world of freelancing. I started with covering weddings and other private functions, but being a woman in a male-dominated field did not deter me from doing what I love best. I launched my own wedding photography company by the same name. The venture turned out to be an enormous success.

I hopes to capture people’s most precious, revered and treasured moments which can’t be rewound back. Also, I  love capturing people’s emotions and expressions in their most candid form. I dream of inspiring more and more women to foray into this field and continue to work hard towards my aspirations.
Art inspires me, photography inspires me and it culminated into this wonderful thing we have today: Athira Sidharth’s Artistic Expression.

3.What are some tips you would like to share with amateur photographers?

You don't need a professional camera to take great photographs . Even your old digital cam or mobile can create magic .
Always experiment with lights
Must learn all the rules( photography) then break the rules but you should justify it .

4. What are important skills one should have to be successful photographer?

Always think out of the box . Skills - in my view point capture the best moments . We can only  bring  back the best moments only through photographs or videos . So always focus , be patient and observe things around you.

5. What are various opportunities available for aspiring photographers?

A lot . You can be a Wedding photographer like me. I love to capture moments and emotions on their big day ♥️
You can be a
fashion photographer!
A photojournalist!
A sports photographer!
A wildlife photographer!
A travel photographer!
A commerical photographer ( product , food , architectural )....etc

6. Which is your favourite book and why?

Rhonda Byrne's Secret is a life-hack for me. The book is all about the law of attraction, a universal law which explains that we are the ones who create our universe. The thoughts inside our mind summons the things happening to us. I believe in that!
