Creativity Is All That One Needs - Christopher Gomes

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I was born and brought up in West Bengal. Since childhood I was keen on photography, but I did not have a camera back then. I got my first DSLR after I started to earn on my own. After that, I became more serious about photography. The people around me started admiring my work, which gave me a push.

2. How and when did you realize your passion for photography?

I think I was serious about photography from the childhood, but sadly did not have any medium to shoot. When I finally bought my first camera, I realized how serious I was and driven towards photography. So I think I was passionate for photography from the very beginning, but did not have any way to express it.

3. What are some tips you would like to share with amateur photographers?

It is never about gears, it is all about your potential, ability and hard work. You can always start small and dream big.

4. What are the important skills one should have to be a successful photographer?

According to me, only one skill is important – creativity.

5. What are the various opportunities available for aspiring photographers?

I think, in this generation of globalization, there is no limit for creative people. There are so many conventional professions related to photography, like wedding, event, product etc. Just like that, one can think about any unconventional way to pursue his/her passion for photography, like journalism, blogging, travelling, etc.

6. Which is your favorite book and why?

Sadly, I am not into reading books that much.
