1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I’m born & raised in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Coming from the mountains I’ve always been an outdoor enthusiast. I had a very active childhood which transcended me into taking up Hockey in my school & then I became a member of the National Hockey team & represented my state in multiple tournaments.

From one of my tournaments, I got selected for Chak De India, and from there on my journey as an actor began.

2. Did you ever think or dream of being an actor?

No. Not even in a million years.

This thought was nowhere close to my realm of the universe. The dream was to represent India in Hockey & have my name on the jersey. But fate had different plans for me and I chose to go with the flow.

3. How can one approach their career and have the confidence and belief to become an actor?

Apart from working on your craft one really needs to be aware of themselves and should work on their personal growth. Be observant of their surroundings and have a connection with your own emotions. Most importantly, always be a student.

4. If not this, what would you be doing?

I would have been probably playing Hockey for India, or at least I would like to believe so!

5. For a complete outsider with inroads, what advice would you like to give?

Not going to lie it’s difficult but it’s not impossible. Hard work, perseverance & mental strength, what will keep you going. Trust your talent and your gut. And know the difference between your ego & your dignity. Don’t let the success go into your brain and rejection into your heart.

6. What kind of book do you prefer to read?

With books, I’ve different phases. Right now I’m reading ‘The Unbearable Lightness of Being’. But mostly I like to read about inspiring journeys, passion mixed with spirituality yet entertaining.

7. What is your mantra of success?

Don’t let your success go to your head and your failures to your heart. Always choose to be Optimistic and it will manifest.
