Insights on Instagram by an Influencer: Ananya Mitra

What led you to start your page on Instagram and what is it about?

I wished to keep myself busy in something when I first felt neglected by the most beloved ones in my life at that moment, be it a friend or anyone.. that's when I started my research on blogging and influencing and with lots of awkwardness and shyness I created my own feed and had my first collaboration with bewakoof.com

Yeah, I am thankful to those people who made me feel neglected me that day because without the anxiety of loneliness, i would not have thought of something like this... Thanks to everyone who is beside me today and still supporting me .

How would you distinguish the term blogger from an influencer?

blogger is someone with a website where they host a blog and publish their own original, valuable content. An influencer is someone with an online platform who has a massive following and therefore a large impact on an audience's buying decisions. Not all bloggers are influencers. Not all influencers are bloggers.

Is it financially sustainable to be an influencer today?

No, I don't think it is not fully financially sustainable to be an influencer today because everyone wants their own benefits, and in this experience with over 80+ national and international brands, most of their idea is to get the work done in return of few products.. Blogging is my passion, It definitely gives me fame, popularity and also some earnings... but I never see it as a full-time profession till now..

What do you think influences consumer behaviour?

It's all about how perfectly you present something in short to make it get attracted to the people. It depends on style, design, texture, uniqueness and obviously price plays a big role here...

Your opinion on Instagram contemplating removing likes option for posts.

Likes aren't completely gone. You can still view the like count on your own photos and videos, So I don't think I can give much opinion on it...

What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?

Well my idea of success in life is that, if you feel that you are doing something right and with honestly... Then do not listen to any back pullers who keeps trying to make you down.. If you consider someone very special in your life, see that the person supports you in every aspect. I believe if you give respect, you'll earn it back. But if you don't then there is no point of me giving back the same to you as well. So in short, don’t think much about everyone, in this selfish world, if you are doing something with your passion and honesty, I would say go ahead. Be your own voice, and never do anything that forces you to kill your love for anything.

Learn to sacrifice a few in order to get something better.

I belong from a Bengali conservative family with no background of social media activities. My father is a govt. Officer and I stay with my grandmother and father. It was only me who pushed myself to do something out of my barrier to achieve what I want... Whatever I am today in this social world, it is because of me :)
