1. Tell us more about your background and journey.

Well, where do I begin? Born and raised in the city of dreams and I am no less than a dreamer myself [literally I can lucid dream]. I had an amazing school years before I opted for science stream in my 11th grade. I had always been the creative and no conformist kind, always on a conquest to challenge the status quo.

I had always been inclined towards the world of adverts and animation, furthermore sparking my interest in the domain of management, especially marketing. Academically speaking I have a bachelor of management studies degree from the University of Mumbai and a Masters in Business Administration degree from Symbiosis International University.

2. When did you decide you wanted to be a Content Writer?

Well, there's not a particular moment per so but I starkly remember writing my personal experiences in a diary. That hobby sparked my interest in writing. Right from the start, I have always been an extroverted peoples person. I have a way with communicating things be it verbal, non-verbal or written. But it all started to materialise in my first internship with a startup where I was responsible for creating and curating content, copyrighting and blog creation. I loved playing with different types of blogs and content to see which ones engaged my target audience the most and the rest is history. I am currently a content strategist at Upgrade.

3. Is it a financially stable career?

Honestly speaking it isn't a job for quitters. Like any other role out there in the market initially, the salaries are low but as and when you learn the tricks of the trade and move forward there's no dearth of well-paying opportunities. Just with the right network, skill sets and determination, you can be a successful content writer with some great paychecks. After all, content is indeed the king these days.

4. Who is your favorite writer and why?

Hands down! It has to be Mark Manson, the author of the subtle art of not giving a f**k and everything is f****d, a book about hope. Why? because this author is straight to the point and does not BATB [beat around the bush]. Also, he is realistic unlike those life coaches or lifestyle "gurus" he doesn't harp on the fact of being always optimistic. Last but not the least his life is really relatable to the common folk. For the people who haven't read the "orange book" please do, its a must-read.

5. Where does your inspiration lie?

I'd say the biggest inspiration I draw from is my mother. I see her work around the clock but also balance her family life and I aspire to be like her. Even she has a beautiful expression in poetry writing and maybe the source of my writing too.

6. What does your typical day look like?

its mostly chilled out due to the whole COVID-19 situation. I work, cook, clean, learn something new every month and take care of my dog. But I am big on travelling post the situation gets better.

7. What piece of advice would you like to give to future aspiring Content writers?

Hone your skills and be a winner. Do not have a silo mentality that content writer only write content. The job demands much more skills than that. You need to have good researching skills, communication, knowledge about the domain or industry you'd be writing for, knowledge about IPR/ academic integrity and plagiarism. And a sound knowledge of content management platforms.

8. Which is your favorite book and why?

Again I have to tread back and refer to question 4 and say it is the subtle art of not giving a f**k because it is really straight forward doesn't lie to you about being extremely successful or optimistic but how in a way you can lead a fuller life just augmenting your interests, emotions, behaviours and values. Everyone has their own pace work hard but also stop and enjoy the moments in life. A must-read because it gave me kick, seeing how Mark Manson struggled in every possible facet of life still emerged to become a NY best selling author, indeed is something
