1.Tell me about you and your journey.

Beauty is something I have always been inclined towards, whether it was trying new product or doing make up for my family members. I started my journey when I was 18 years old.

I used to do makeup as a passion on my mother or on myself. I was more Inclined towards creativity. I was so passionate about makeup that I started my journey just after my 12th board exams and it’s been an year now I have been practising in this industry.

As a beginner i faced a lot many issues in building up clientele as this industry is so saturated it takes a lot of hard work, patience and consistency to grow as a successful makeup artist .

2.Why did you choose this career?

I chose makeup as a career because in past years its been my passion and i was so fascinated by the smile and confidence makeup can give to a girl.

As my brand name Soul Artistry says enhancing precious souls this always ment enhancing souls that are beautiful inside out.

3.How can one build a clientele as a makeup artist?

Best way to build your clientele is to make your profile eye catchy to each one who visits your profile. Moreover doing shoots and putting up there in an organised manner would definitely give you clients.

Also promoting your posts on instagram is the most effective way to target different audience. Focus on perfection and quality work rather than earning. Word of mouth is the best way to grow.

4.What are some of your top makeup tips?

  • Less is more , building up foundation on areas where it is required the most will give you long lasting and flawless base
  • Focusing more on skin preparation and blending
  • Patience and consistency in practicing new look will definitely help you grow

5.What kind of opportunities one can get after becoming makeup artist?

Makeup is such a vast topic. After learning and gaining knowledge one can get into prosthetics, media, movies, albums and many more. As an artist you can even come with your own salon in future. You can come with your own academy.

6.Which professional courses would you suggest for aspiring artists?

I would suggest go for small term course rather than long term as you will be able to learn properly in short span of time.

Also long term courses are just waste of time and money. And one more tip go with only makeup course not makeup and hair both as you can only ace in one skill at a time.

7.Your favourite book and why?

Sorry I'm not a book reader at all.
