I come from a very simple Bengali family. Spent my childhood mostly travelling due to my father’s job. I always had this hidden urge of going into the fashion industry but never really had the confidence to convince myself to speak about it to my parents.
I wanted to sit for the entrance exams for the NIFT but was not allowed to instead I gave my joints and got myself into Engineering. It was after I went to my college; did my 1st fashion show in our college fest and the fashion bug bit me again. Then, I decided to write about my passion about fashion, create different looks so that I can help out others and my journey as a fashion blogger started.
2. What led you to start your page on Instagram?
As I have mentioned above I wanted to do something with fashion which would be practical, easy yet trendy. With Instagram being such great platform where I could reach huge number of people; I thought posting looks on Instagram would be the best thing to do.
3. Do you think that there will be a new style statement or fashion obsession with the new normal? If so, what would be your choice and why?
As we are already witnessing almost all designer labels are coming up with masks matching to the dresses. This trend will be short lived and I really don’t think masks would bring huge fashion obsession in anyway as most of the fashionable masks do not provide complete protection against the virus and I would always prefer safety before trend. I just hope that the time comes super soon when we don’t have to wear masks.
4. Is it financially sustainable to be a fashion blogger today?
I have been into fashion blogging for last 3 years and what I have noticed is, in India a brand would pay you if you have followers more than 100k. Anything below that brands approach you with barter collaboration. So if you are only on Instagram, planning to earn only out of your Instagram account and blog that won’t be a good idea.

I never came with the idea of earning out of my blogging ,I did this sheer-ly out of passion. I work in a leading MNC that pays me well and I do not earn much from my blog or Instagram. It is not so stable if you are in India, you need to keep a backup for yourself.
