Never Stop Drawing If You Love It - Demon Artist

1. Tell us more about your background and journey.

I am a 20-year-old artist who is falling in love with the moon. I create black and white art and comics. To me, drawing is the only thing that keeps me alive.

Before I started making my Instagram into an art account in 2019, I was just a random user that posting some doodles and photos online. On the first day of 2019, I got rid of all my old posts and decided to challenge myself to do the 365 days illustrations.

At the end of the year, I not only completed 365 hand-drawing illustrations on sketchbooks but also got myself many followers who enjoyed my arts. The community on Instagram helped me to get closer to my dream of being an artist, and to improve my mental health problem. Soon, I started to take commissions and to sell some stickers, prints, apparel, etc.

Instagram is my first step in being an artist. Now, I have Patreon as the second step to get close to my goal. My goal is to become a full-time artist and publish the graphic novel about my original characters, Demon and The Moon. I draw constantly about them to share pure love and feelings.

Amount all of my art, Demon and The Moon has the most important place in my heart.

2. When did you decide you wanted to be an artist?

Before I went to kindergarten, I have set up my mind to become an artist.

3. Is it a financially stable career?

Currently, it is not a financially stable career. I am a university student now, but I hope to become a full-time artist in the near future after graduation.

4. Who is your favorite artist and why?

Unfortunately, I haven’t met one. But I like Maurits Cornelis Escher pretty much.

5. Where do you get inspired to create art?

I am mostly inspired by my mental problems and darkness. The moon, stars, and death are fascinating to me. It brings me countless inspirations when I spend time with the moon and ethereal forest.

6. What does your typical day look like?

If I don’t have to go to class, I usually wake up late. I like to have a simple brunch and then start to draw till midnight. When I am creating, I often listen to music. Nothing special to be honest, besides feeding and playing with my pet leopard gecko, Gummy.

7. What piece of advice would you like to give to future aspiring artists?

Never stop drawing if you love it. Dream it and make it.

8. Which is your favorite book and why?

My favorite book is Caipirinha med Dpoden by Maria Ernestam.

There are many philosophical meanings and questions inside, but what caught my eye the most is the atmosphere that the author created. It makes me want to spend an afternoon with The Death in the book. We can sit beside the lake and have some tea in the chilly autumn.
