Part of the Secret of Success in Life Is to Eat What You Like - Dhanishtha Khullar

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

My Name is Dhanishtha Khullar, I’m born and brought up in Agra. Completed my schooling from DPS Agra and graduation from Sri Venkateswara college, DU. Every group has a person who clicks pictures of food wherever he/she goes and that’s me.

I used to click photographs of food since a long time and last year in September,2019 I came up with an idea to start my own blog and tell people about the good food that they might love and places/ persons that need recognition which they don’t get because of big restaurants and hotels.

2. What led you to start this journey and your page on Instagram and what is it about?

I have been a foodie since always, I loved capturing food and keeping it as a memory. I realised this passion and love for food last year and decided to step in the field of food blogging as a career. My page is A_TASTETOUR and it is all about food, that I try and explore. I review restaurants and make my own content and post on my page.

3. How would you distinguish the term blogger from an influencer?

A blogger is someone with a website where they host a blog and publish their own original valuable content. An influencer is someone who has massive followers and influence the buying decisions of their audience. Being an instagram blogger, an instagram blog post is known as a caption and within 2200 characters. So an instagram blogging can be termed as microblogging.

4. Is it financially sustainable to be an food blogger today ?  How can someone make money out of it?

Just like any other business, food blogging is also a business and it requires a lot of time, efforts and money too. Investment is a big thing. First of all you have to make good content so that people love it and actually try those places. It is very important to know your audience and be genuine.

Earning starts at a later stage, when the restaurant owner approaches You and ask you to review their food and a lot of other things like facilities, ambience etc. Initially you might end up doing reviews for free, but eventually when you get really good at it with experience you can start earning from it as well.

5. What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?

My idea of success is to keep trying and not stopping at any phase of life. There will be many ups and downs, but you have to keep trying to achieve what you desire.

6. How can someone become a successful food blogger ?

To become a successful blogger, one must be genuine enough to inspire people and make them love you. Post regularly, know your audience, post attractive content, do new things, be as innovative as you can be and that’s it, you’ll reach your destination.

7. Which is your favorite book and why?

Alchemist is the most inspiring book I’ve ever read. It’s a fictional book and the story is about a boy who did everything to fulfill his dream and that’s what keeps me going and to work for my blog as it makes me happy as you should do what you love and love what you do.
