Patience Is the Key and Content Is the King - Snigdha Polapragada

I promote fashion, lifestyle, and travel content on my profile. I believe every person has a unique way of interpreting fashion. I define my style as comfortable, minimalistic, and classy.

1.Tell us about your background and journey?

I am Snigdha polapragada from Hyderabad, a 25-year old passionate content creator and an MBA by profession. I never knew life had different plans for me in its store. Reminiscing and writing about my journey surely makes me realize how much have I changed as a person, both professionally and personally.

I've done my BTech in computer science engineering followed by PGDM in the finance, marketing, and banking sector. Pursuing an MBA has shaped my life in a way like never before. Campus placements were never my cup of tea. I've always believed in self-employment.

Coming from a business family, I've constantly been seeking for opportunities to build something on my own. But right since my childhood, I had a desire to be in the entertainment Industry and surprisingly my sister introduced me to one such platform called Instagram.

I started with writing lifestyle blogs and eventually started vlogging on YouTube and IGTV. Lockdown was when I started revamping my content and I'm grateful for being recognized for my work.

2. What led you to start your page on Instagram and what is it about?

It wasn't a deliberate decision to become a digital content creator on social media. It took me a lot of time, courage, and strength to begin my journey on Instagram. My dear sister Sneha polapragada encouraged me to join the tribe of Instagram for various reasons.

I promote fashion, lifestyle, and travel content on my profile. I believe every person has a unique way of interpreting fashion. I define my style as comfortable, minimalistic, and classy.

As much as I prefer wearing brighter hues, I equally enjoy wearing neutrals. I reckon fashion is an amalgamation of different colours, fabrics, and creativity. I'm happy that my content and fashion sense resonate with my audience. I have a lovely set of followers who keep encouraging my work.

I feel elated when they wait for my posts and updates. I plan for my feed every day. This profession requires more amount of working hours than a regular 9-5 Job.

3. How would you distinguish the term blogger from an influencer?

A Blogger is someone who writes their viewpoints on various websites, and an influencer is precisely someone who has a huge amount of follower base on social media platforms. Influencing is a vast subject. It is a mix of various genres. People usually find influencers' profile visually stunning and interesting.

The term, "aesthetic feed" is going gaga all over the internet, and I believe a properly aligned and edited feed is what attracts the audience. Also, with experience of over a year in this medium, I feel An influencer can be a blogger, trendsetter, vlogger, creator, and what not?

4. Is it financially sustainable to be an influencer today?

Well, Patience is the key and content is the king. The more you concentrate on your content, the more people get attracted to your work and, the chances of becoming financially stable will gradually progress.

As a beginner, I never focused on collaborations. They eventually happen. But understand that the process of becoming financially independent on this platform is time taking. There is a huge scope than you could ever expect.there's no looking back Once you become a successful influencer.

5. What do you think influences consumer behaviour?

Honest reviews, consistency, relevance, and authenticity. I would like to make a point here. Deriving inspiration from well-established influencers and recreating content in your style is entirely different from impersonating the same content with no change. Audience judge. Audience admire.

Audience support and Audience love you only for your creativity and originality. So that pretty much is directly implied to their behaviour. My audience loves the art that I produce every day. When you do something that your audience admire the most? It automatically affects their behaviour positively.

6. What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?

My mother always says You cannot impress every individual around you. Your work will be liked by some and disliked by tons. Concentrate on the brighter side, love the ones who love your content, and work towards your goals. Success follows your way.

My father always says, Be grateful for everything you've achieved and treat every day as a beginning. Don't let success get to your head. Every morning I wake up and remember these mantras.

And I have a sister who motivates me all day long. All of this wouldn't have been possible without her support.

I never brag about the posts that did well and never complain about my posts that dint performs well. My only goal is to create something new and appealing to my audience every day.

7. How can someone become a successful social media influencer?

Believe in yourself and surround yourself with the ones who are driven by the same zeal and passion for their work. It is important to love and respect your work before you expect anybody else to appreciate it. Work, work and work until you achieve success. Adapting to the changes in the current world and revamping your content accordingly is the only key to become successful. I am trying.
