As we are seeing the
current situation everything is getting automated and automation is playing a
crucial role in every field of today’s era. So now there is new technology
coming in the market named “Robotic
Process Automation”.
Due to advancement in
technology robots came into the market and the work gets automated with the
help of it. But there is a slight difference between traditional automation and
Robotic Process Automation.
Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is basically an application in technology, which aims to
automate the work of configuring computer software or a “robot” to capture and
interpret existing applications for processing a transaction, manipulating the
data, triggering responses and also communicating with other digital systems.
RPA specifically
focuses elevating the nature of work by removing people from dull and
repetitive tasks by providing dramatic improvements in accuracy and cycle time
and increase the productivity in their process.
Elaborating the acronym of RPA can be described as:
- Robotic - they are the entities which mimic human actions as robots.
- Process - it is a sequence of steps to perform a task or activity.
- Automaton - it is a process which is done automatically without any human intervention (by robot)
Working of RPA:
RPA executes
automatically. There is no requirement of manual process in the RPA working
structure. All the process is done automatically through the software. It also
reduces the swivel chair integration as there is no need of manually entering the
data from one system to another system.
The working of RPA is
consists of few steps which are as follows:
1. Read email: Start the process by reading the email which came into the system.
2. Open the attachment: Open the attachment from excel and find out what procedure is to be done for the required problem.
3. Process: Enter the data from excel in ERP platform.
4. Escalation: Do the escalation process if yes then do the analysis of data
through employee, if no then end the process.
5. End: end the process by completing the procedure
Implementation and
methodology of RPA:
There are few stages
in the implementation and methodology of RPA:
Prepare RPA: Identify the process that is candidates for automation setup the project team check the implementation timelines and approach and make the agreement.
Build RPA solution: Start building the automated workflows as per agreed to adapt a solution.
Test RPA solution: Run the testing cycles for in-scope automation processes. Identify and correct the defects in the solution.
Support RPA solution: Provide contiguous support to post go-live and assist in immediate defect resolution.
With the adoption of RPA in organization and business, there is a quite a good impact on employment. RPA helps to switch the process focus to customer focus of improving the quality and accuracy
RPA work on
improvement of processor speed and timelines and also allows the workforce
shift to higher value task.
Coming to survey ratio
we can see that 66% said RPA restructures the existing work and enable the
employees to have more interaction with human and 60% says that RPA helps to
focus the employees more on meaningful and strategic task.
It is also observed in
a survey that 85% of firms expect to achieve better customer services and also
are one of the top 3 benefits of RPA. 82% firms emphasized the change in
management as a challenge especially when it comes to cultural issues.
Other benefits include
increased efficiency (86%), deeper insights into customers (67%), and improved
customer service (57%). For nearly 70% of organizations, RPA is enabling
employees to have more human interactions.
Robotic Process Automation is
expected to save companies 50-70% on labor costs by making intelligent use of
resources, near-zero error rates, improved compliance and reduced process cycle
time, all of these through the implementation of machine learning and AI to
develop/enhance procedures.
As per the research
report of Global Market Insights Inc. it is expected that RPA market will reach
$5 billion by 2024. Due to greater incorporation of Artificial intelligence (AI) for the purpose of advanced decision making and
inference.
The future of RPA is
subject to much speculation as the early majority are adopting the automated
technology and discovering new uses and new synergies.
Conclusion:
As RPA brings more technologically-advanced solutions to businesses around the world, operating models that adopt automation, whether in-house or offshore, will cut costs, drive efficiency and improve quality.
Robotic
Process Automation technologies are becoming compulsory as a part to do
business operations in the organization.
The greatest part of this Robotic Process Automation technology is that it is more convenient and more helpful to the elderly lonely people plus differently able candidates round the clock.
The
best part is that they will do repetitive tasks and even involve in the risky
process of human life. So the human resources in the organizations can give
their valuable time in prime decision making or the intelligent process of the
company.
