I love acting because you get to play different characters and it's an imaginary world where you just have to be truthful to yourself and to others. I think when you love watching or doing something and you want to pursue the same as a career option because you are getting paid for it. What else you want in life?
1. Tell us about your background and journey.
Hi, my name is Mishthi Tyagi I’m from Ghaziabad Uttar Pradesh. I did my schooling from DPS Ghaziabad. After my school, I took admission in Gargi college and started modelling in Delhi so I decided let's go for Pantaloons Femina Miss India (2007).
From then on things started rolling and there was no looking back as I was signed by TOI (Times of India) agency shoot talent management. All Femina Miss India girls have to sign with Times of India. Then I walked the ramp for leading designers of India and did a lot of prestigious campaigns.
Although I knew that my final destination is Mumbai because I was always interested in acting and wanted to pursue it as a career. Being a Virgo I’m very practical and down to earth girl, you can call me mango ppl. I won't mind.
I love sports and adventures I love playing basketball and I like all kind of sports I was an athlete in my school and I have like a bundle of sports certificates both inter-house n State level.
I like driving. I mean I would love to work as a part-time cab driver especially on weekends but in INDIA we can't (social stigma ) and above all, it’s not safe for girls. I was in class 7th when I started driving a car. Coz I started driving scooter after 5th standard.
I took Duke of Edinburgh award in trekking bronze Medal (I’ll send u the pic) so yeah basically I m a go-getter I like doing things that are engrossing gripping and above all fascinating.
2. Did you ever think or dream of being an actor?
I always wanted to be an actor it was very clear. It was very clear when I was 13-14 because acting is a satisfying rewarding career that has nearly unlimited potential. I think being an actor gives you the best excuse to never stop learning or growing.
I grew up watching shows like kausati Kahani and lot of tv shows I used to love watching when I was in my school so there was a kind of connect with TV and today no wonder and no points for guessing why I’m working on television.
I love acting because you get to play different characters and it's an imaginary world where you just have to be truthful to yourself and to others. I think when you love watching or doing something and you want to pursue the same as a career option because you are getting paid for it. What else you want in life?
3. How can one approach their career and have the confidence and belief to become an actor?
Confidence is something you can't get it is something you can build. As an actor, you need to be mouldable to do your job. In acting strength is realised by being flexible and open to any criticism and notes to be a great actor to must be willing to step into the unknown with honesty.
You need to believe in yourself for people to believe you. If you don't believe in yourself who will believe in you. When you develop that belief and you believe that you are a person of influence and a person of purpose I believe you can rise out of any situation.
Have faith in your own abilities, work hard and there is nothing you can't accomplish and I think this formula works not only for actors but for every individual working in different fields coz at the end of the day we all want to achieve something and want to be successful.
4. If not this, what would you be doing?
If not this then I don't know I never thought about it but yes simultaneously I worked on this plan because I'm very practical in life and I’m always prepared for the worse that what if I'll not become a successful actor so I did my master's MBA in HR ( human resource department ) post-graduation.
But this never came to my mind that I'll not become n actor. But yes practically I worked towards it. because my mother was a teacher and my father is a doctors brother is highly qualified so it's very important in my family to have a PG degree. Will definitely answer this question the day I m doing something apart from acting.

5. For a complete outsider with inroads, what advice would you like to give?
First of all congrats on exploring a new career path I definitely believe people should pursue their dreams. For a person still trying to get a foot in the doors, it’s simply very hard to get any favours the newer you are. I think acting is a closed industry and everyone is competing with everyone.
Everyone has to start somewhere and for amateur actors, before you start thinking about and making acting your job, try it on for size ages times to see if you really like it or is it working for you. Because for a lot of people this industry doesn't work. Maybe God has some other plans for them.
For outsiders’ things are very different n difficult but not impossible but don't expect any miracles to happen I think just work honestly towards your dream and work on your craft join a good acting school and constantly work towards your goal.
As our teacher, Saurabh Sachdeva from Actors truth told us acting has layers and layers so one has to work on his acting skills persistently.
6. What is your mantra of success?
I think I’m a happy go lucky girl hence I keep myself positive and happy all the time. Happiness is the key to success because a happy person is able to deal with work in a better way.
7. Which is your favourite book and why?
I don't like reading books but I read articles online I read news current affairs. Reading is important because it helps you grow mentally, emotionally and psychologically. Reading expands the mind and allows for creative thinking and helps you develop positive thinking.
