The food I cook is largely influenced by my lifestyle, my travels, the places I have called home and my Indian heritage.
1. Tell us about your background and journey.
I am a food and photography enthusiast, currently based in Bangalore, India. With a formal education in Art and Journalism, I began my career as a graphic designer in Memphis, Tennessee.
After marriage, I relocated to Chicago, Illinois and started cooking on a regular basis. Baking was my first love and after moving back to India, I set up a home-based baking business called “Cupcakeree.”
2. What led you to do food blogging?
As I mentioned, baking was my first love.
I enjoy cooking and trying out new recipes. Most of my food is simple and fuss-free with a focus on wholesome ingredients. I have an insatiable sweet tooth, so I make a fair share of (healthy-ish) desserts. I enjoy experimenting with healthier alternatives but occasionally indulge.
I have spent many happy years knuckle-deep in buttercream and fondant, churning out custom order cakes and cupcakes.
3. When did you first decide that you wanted to create and write content about food i.e. for blogging?
When chronic health issues forced me to quit, Instagram became my platform to share my culinary creations. I began to dabble in food photography and fell in love with it. That was also the time my husband embarked on his own journey to fitness and we as a family cut back on our consumption of refined sugar and processed foods.
The food I cook is largely influenced by my lifestyle, my travels, the places I have called home and my Indian heritage. In addition to blogging, I also freelance as a food photographer, food stylist, recipe developer and content creator.
4. Is there a dish you particularly associate yourself with?
Popsicles have become my signature dish.
5. Which is your favourite book and why?
I don't have any favourite book in particular.
