It’s A World Full Of Trends, You Miss Out On One And You’d Still Be On Time For The Next - Mashiyat Sayed

I love being clicked. I like making people laugh. I enjoy knowing new people and allowing them to know me as who I am, I like keeping up with all the internet trends be it dancing or something I’m not even good at.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I’m Mashiyat Sayed and I’m 21, based in Mumbai. I am pursuing my ACCA and I’m a business analyst besides working my way through the influencer life. The journey was never quite planned but kept unfolding in beautiful ways. With so much already going on in my academic life I had never given a thought about going an extra mile towards my very own hobby. But then a friend of mine just asked me to let lose and give it a shot. What would I even lose if I’m starting off with nothing right? And that’s how it started and the results just made me more confident about the choices I made.

I love being clicked. I like making people laugh. I enjoy knowing new people and allowing them to know me as who I am, I like keeping up with all the internet trends be it dancing or something I’m not even good at. I don’t think I have a particular niche that I could stick to because I really love doing everything I can and the concern is never to be the best in it but to just learn something from it. I still have a long way to go on this journey with major ups and downs but I love it and I wouldn’t give it up for nothing. Living by the quote “chase down your passion like it’s the last bus of the night.”

2. When did you first decide that you wanted to create content and how did you start?

It all started when I got over with my graduation and I had some free time on my hand. I started getting more consistent and active in respect to my feed. Took me a while to understand how things worked around. Then I started experimenting my way through different categories starting from beauty to lifestyle. In the midst of all this filmygyan approached me and guided me by showing me how it’s done on a professional level. It gave me a major kick start because I was well aware of what I was doing and where I wanted to go with it.

3. Who is your favorite creator and why?

As I said before I don’t have my mind consolidated towards just one segment. Sometimes I’m drawn towards Santoshi Shetty for her amazing fashion sense then next minute I’m binge watching David Dobrik, nothing in between.

4. How and where do you find inspiration to churn out content?

Always on the lookout for the presence of wonder haha! Everyone lately keeps coming up with something new worth trying and learning. Sometimes I find an inspiration from a famous web series or from an underrated song. It’s a world full of trends, you miss out on one and you’d still be on time for the next.

5. Which is your favorite book and why?

Reading has always been an escape for me and out of all the books I’ve read one book actually brought me back to reality and that was “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho. When I first started reading this book it felt like every other book I’ve read but then halfway through the book I found some answers which I personally connected to. The book had a phrase “Maktub” which meant “its all written” that got stuck in my mind on repeat. If something belongs to me I’m going to get it
sooner or later and the moment I accepted this I was no more anxious about the future.

6. What piece of advice would you like to give to future and aspiring creators?

Just to be consistent with they do and to enjoy every bit of it. And do not fear experimenting.
