Love and Passion Will Make Your Work a Lot Easier - Vaishnavi (theIndian_foodie)

According to me, food can change any kind of mood into happiness. Honestly, I love to learn and appreciate the efforts taken behind every dish even if it's homemade food or restaurant food.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

Hi! Vaishnavi / theIndian_foodie here. I am from Solapur. I am an Engineer and working in "corporate" in Pune. I always loved clicking pictures and experimenting with people and food using my phone. You can say, I am a foodie since childhood. I never complained about food... I know my mom's luckiest.

I started my page 3 years ago. For the first 2 years, I wasn't serious or consistent. I am an introvert but with my page, I made many new blogger friends, learned a lot of new things and this has helped me a lot to develop as a blogger.

The past 8 months have been really great. Now I have a family of 6.6k people. Be part of my journey. Keep supporting.

2. Which is your favorite cuisine and dish?

I love Maharashtrian food from my heart and soul. It's really hard to pick one but the dish I can have 3 times a day is Kande-Pohe and Gulabjamuns. I love all kinds of traditional Maharashtrian dishes as well.

South Indian cuisine is my other favorite, specially medu vada and sambar. Yeah! This list is endless...

3. Should food blogging be just a passion or can it become a regular career?

Many people start blogging with keeping certain things already set in their mind, for benefits/profits. If you succeed, well that's good. But if you don't then that could be demotivating.

If you love photography or blogging or exploring even if you get fewer followers or engagements you will love the process. Love and passion will make your work a lot easier, and it's really cool to make 'stereotype less' career out of what you love. Let's normalize this!

4. Which restaurants/food joints would you recommend to food lovers?

So, In Solapur, no place can beat the street food of Park. Park is already in Hearts of Solapurkars. And in Pune, I would definitely recommend Daal Bati of Ramdev Dhaba(Highly recommend). Still, there are many places remaining to explore.

5. What makes you appreciate a particular dish or a restaurant and talk about it on your blog?

According to me, food can change any kind of mood into happiness. Honestly, I love to learn and appreciate the efforts taken behind every dish even if it's homemade food or restaurant food.

Plus I am a big fan of Indian spices. Tastewise and smell wise. Every post I shared on my page reminds me of some of the best memories I had and all are my favorites. I want people to discover new cuisines as well as some very traditional cuisines through my page.

6. Is there a dish you particularly associate yourself with?

Gulabjamun. I need oxygen and Gulab Jamun equally. Gulabjamun is the first sweet I ever made in my whole cooking journey. It was always my favorite and to be able to make it made me kinda proud of me.

7. Which is your favorite book and why?

My favorite book is Yayati. This is basically a mythological novel written by my favorite Marathi writer V.S. Khandekar. The story revolves around three people and their life, bound by different perspectives.

The most important lesson this book gives is about morality and immorality, and I think it's high time for our world to learn about this. If you know Marathi, I definitely recommend this book.
