It takes a lot of long hours, concentration, sweat, blood (ouch! oven burn!), and tears, but at the heart of it, if there’s passion there… if you truly love it… none of it feels like work. It’s just… 2nd nature. It’s what you do. Food blogging is hard if you are from a small city and you will have to struggle a lot.
Hello, i am Jagrity Varshney and I am 23 years old. I am food a blogger from Siliguri, West Bengal and i am currently pursuing MCOM. My family being entirely from science background i chose to follow my passion of food blogging. i dream to have a restaurant with unique dishes.
When i used to travel to different places, majority of those memories’ spins around food and food for me was a way to relief stress. So, i decided to be a food blogger on Instagram on 31st march,2019 I’ve never been happier since.
It all started when I was a kid and my mom used to cook me food of all sorts, be it tarts , cookies, cakes, pizzas, or any other cuisines that come to your mind. So, I would say the affinity of food I’ve is definitely from my mom.
I've collaborated with a lot of Big brands like Goodricke Tea, Ketleygold Tea , Darjeeling Tea, True Elements, Del Monte Tupperware, Warmeo, Yogabar and Many more.
2. Which is your favourite cuisine and dish?
I would say my favourite cuisine is North Indian because of its spices and thick gravy. North Indian cuisine consists of a lot of dishes, and my favourite dish is Indian Thaali because it's contains a lot of dishes.
3. Should food blogging be just a passion or can it become a regular career?
Food blogging can just be a passion but it can be further taken as a career.
But never start food blogging for money, you would never succeed if you think that way.
You also might get a lot of haters but move on and do what you love!
4. Which restaurants/food joints would you recommend to food lovers?
I would recommend the barcode, Siliguri because it has a unique dish to present and would never fail to surprise you. The taste is just amazing with a lot of innovation.
5. What makes you appreciate a particular dish or a restaurant and talk about it on your blog?
When I visit restaurants for reviews, it is the whole story that matters: the ambience of the restaurant, the hospitality, quality of the food, presentation, pricing and the uniqueness of a menu.
I always love dishes with a little bit of twists because that’s what counts today! Everyone is serving the same dish but with innovation the flavours can be further elevated.
6. Is there a dish you particularly associate yourself with?
I would associate myself with tea, because me belonging from tea garden always loved nature and peace. The morning breeze, the chirping of the birds and small beads of water over flowers.
Tea makes you achieve that and that too anywhere. And as said You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough.
7. What was your inspiration?
I was inspired by my mom. She used to cooked multiple dishes and all with perfection and she definitely is my inspiration and motivation.
I also follow those chef's who make simple and easy to make dishes like Chef Meghna'sFoodMagic Kitchen ,Chef Kunal Kapoor, Chef Shivesh.
